“Reid is a great vendor to work with! He is sooo prompt, professional, fun, knows what he is doing, and will create a beautiful video to capture your special day! He is a professional through and through–such quick turnaround time on the video, and we are so grateful that we booked a videographer! He was great at blending into the background, but also getting the good shots. Follow everyone’s advice and book a videographer! You will NOT regret it!”
As I write this, the Pacific Northwest is about to enter panic mode with an impending snow storm. If you see this published, you will know we survived. Grocery stores abandoned, gas stations overflowing into the streets, it is almost like we are preparing for war. And we are, in a way. But while the snow begins to pile up outside, a trip back to one of our September weddings has us dreaming of spring and wedding season all over again. This week we come to you with the Boyar Wedding with Carrie and Phil!
Washingtonians who know their history should be well-acquainted with the First Nations that came before the settlers. The venue for today was named after one, along with the Bay it presides in: Semiahmoo. Just about as far north as you can go before needing a passport, the Semiahmoo resort played excellent host for Carrie and Phil’s wedding.
A big, wonderful wedding with an army of bridesmaids and groomsmen let us break out the wide lenses to capture not only the whole group, but also the lovely oceanfront views of Blaine, WA. There was plenty of time to mess around on the beach with the tide out, and the warm sun and clear skies really made everyone smile their brightest.
The romantic first look (once again, gotta love the wide shots) overlooking the ocean was as picturesque as can be. The various buildings around the area really helped bring in a cozy feeling, too. Oh, and how can we forget about the dog!
We would have loved to spend all day taking shots of everyone out on the waterfront, but after several hours of photos it was time to get hitched. Meeting out on a grass clearing on the fringes of the beach, a massive amount of people were seated and ready to witness the union of Carrie and Phil. The guests then flocked to the docks, scaring away all the birds but ready to enjoy the scenic views and tasty treats.
Once the reception hall was all fixed, the guests headed inside for some special hand-written notes by the bride and groom. The newlyweds made their triumphant arrival before starting to mingle with the guests. Smooth tunes from the band carried the way throughout dinner, only to kick it into high gear for the dancing portion. Be sure to check the newlyweds’ first dance! It’s a blast.
Carrying on throughout the night, the party was full of energy, going so far as the lift Carrie and Phil up in the traditional hora dance. Of course, being on the water means getting the best sunsets. We snuck away with the newlyweds and got shots of them with the tide rolling back in, and the sun dazzling in a myriad of colors.
Thank you to Carrie and Phil for picking Best Made Videos® to film their big day! We hope your first five months of marriage have been going wonderfully!

Carrie and Phil’s story in their own words:
How did you guys meet?
Through mutual friends in Seattle.
Tell us about the proposal!
Phil proposed at our first date restaurant (Joule). He coordinated with our friends and family for everyone to fly in the next day and celebrate all weekend with us!
Why did you choose your venue?
We are from the East Coast and wanted an all-in-one venue where guests could arrive on a Friday and relax all weekend. We also wanted someplace that represented the PNW and highlighted the beauty we have come to call home. Semiahmoo was a perfect fit!
What are you most excited to see in the video?
The little moments and glances between friends and family and the love and celebrations.
