Behind the Scenes w/ Best Made Videos® - Fakkema Wedding
by Scott Johnson
Welcome everyone to our brand new series, “Behind the Scenes w/ Best Made Videos®” where we take you even deeper inside the weddings we have the privilege of filming! Everything from the venue, dresses, food, photographers and more will be featured throughout these articles as we hope to give you a more complete picture of what all goes into weddings these days. This will also allow us to shine a spotlight on some of the best companies working in the industry here in the Pacific Northwest. With so many weddings to choose from, we randomly selected the Fakkema Wedding to kick things off.
Let’s dive on in, shall we?

What better way of closing out a decade of romance than getting hitched at Rosario Resort? Meeting way back in October 2010, their “rather serendipitous” encounter occurred at “the Coug” on WSU’s campus. Jenna happened to be visiting her sister, while Ryne was out enjoying his first homecoming weekend. Ryne’s friend invited along Jenna for a game of Chickens Up Chickens Down (look into it; it’s really fun!) and, as they say, “the rest was pretty much history.”
The couple dated long-distance for two years before finally coming together. Their engagement occurred during one of the riskiest activities you could possibly perceive in regards to potentially losing a delicate piece of jewelry: scuba diving!
With one of their reasons for getting married at Rosario Resort being the great views, it is tough not to agree. The stunning scenery of the East Sound is enough to enchant even the most seasoned Washingtonian, which also makes it a perfect destination wedding (as was another reason for the choice!)
Hair and makeup began at around 10am, and would continue for several hours. At around 1pm it was time for the first official photos of the day, provided by the stellar Rebecca Anne. We also arrived at this time and began catching up with the day. After that, it was time for the First Look, before we quickly had to depart for some breathtaking shots at Mt. Constitution.
We only hung around there for a bit before having to head on back for group shots. After almost four hours of photos (and highlighting the hard work of Anne Timss, the makeup artist) the ceremony finally began at 5:30. In just half an hour, Ryne and Jenna were married and off to sign their licenses.
The wedding would then make its way down to the beach house lawn for dinner, toasts and cake-cutting (catering done by Rosario Resort) and there was even time planned in for some more photos at sunset/golden hour!
Once the sun had set, everyone headed back up to the beach house for dancing! With music provided by Bruce Pavitt, the party went on until the day officially ended: midnight! The day was truly splendid and we are truly thankful that the Fakkemas picked Best Made Videos® to film their wedding day.
As this is our first go at digging in deeper to weddings, what can we fix? What more do you want to see? Let us know in the comments below!
