Behind the Scenes w/ Best Made Videos® - Degginger Wedding
by Scott Johnson
Welcome back, everyone. We hope you had a wonderful Easter, a good week and are keeping your physical and mental health in check. Fortunately, we have had quite a good streak of sunny weather here in the Pacific Northwest, though the whole “April Showers” deal looks to be starting pretty soon. In case you missed our initial article about the Degginger wedding, be sure to check it out before reading any further! It’s time to go Behind the Scenes!
October 5, 2019
Keven and Katy’s story spans several states and years. Initially meeting in college down in Arizona, two years following graduation, Katy moved home to Washington where they reconnected, and as she describes “the rest is history.” In as romantic fashion as possible (meaning, one of those totally blissful proposals you only expect to happen in movies), Kevin took Katy up in a hot air balloon in Arizona where it all started, at sunrise, and dropped to a knee. I mean, how much more extravagant can you get? Katy says, “I of course started bawling and said yes!”
It was a nice mid-day start for our time with the Deggingers. Arriving at 12:30 to the marvelous Trophy Lake Golf and Casting Club, it was prime time to catch the final moments of preparation for the bride and groom. After about an hour of getting ready, it was time to start the ball rolling on all of the major events leading up to the ceremony. First there was a first look with Katy’s dad, followed by the first look with Kevin and the couple's portraits. Then, once 2:30 hit, everyone else joined in, and by 3 the whole family was there, too! Working with Eva Rieb was a blast, especially when you consider all of the beautiful backdrops the Club has to offer.
With the exception of the flowers (done by Karrie Campbell) and the DJ (Nicholas Barrat) everything was pretty much provided by the team at the Club, headed up by Brian Catalli. By 4pm, everyone was eager to see Katy and Kevin get hitched, so we filed into a clearing that offered a breathtaking background. At 4:30, we had newlyweds and it was time to kick off the cocktail hour while Kevin and Katy went to fill out their marriage license. Oh, and more family photos!
An hour later, the newlyweds made their grand entrance. Dinner was served, toasts were given, and the celebrating started! Luckily, we were able to sneak off with the newlyweds to go capture some Golden Hour portraits, which is often a very chance opportunity, especially in October. After a couple hours of partying and celebration, we ended our time with Katy and Kevin and let the party roll on!
Thank you once again to Katy and Kevin for choosing Best Made Videos® to film your wedding day! We hope you are having a blissful time together and had a great six-month anniversary. Congratulations on the future new addition to your family!!!
