Behind the Scenes w/ Best Made Videos® - Schiefer Wedding
by Scott Johnson
Ah, the wonderful smell of fresh spring rain. Not only is it a nice change of pace here after so many days of great weather, but it’s also knocking off all that crummy pollen that has caked our unused cars. With a dowsing for the flowers as well, things outside are going to be looking mighty pretty before too long. We are back this time with a Behind the Scenes look at the Schiefer Wedding from July! Let’s find out a little more about their day:
July 6, 2019
Going to show that Tinder actually does work, Doreen and Josh met on the often-derided dating site. Their proposal was perhaps not everyone’s...cup of coffee...but that’s exactly what theirs started with (along with flowers) as Josh took Doreen on a ride to Kerry Park. As they approached, Josh played “their song” and Doreen started to get the picture. Up at the overlook with the iconic view, Josh dropped to a knee and proposed.
We arrived at the Hyatt at Olive 8 at 11am ready to go with Events by Heather and Ryan. Doreen was getting ready in the Presidential Suite, while Josh was in the Governor's. With plenty of time before 3pm, when the major events would all get rolling, there were games, drinking and just enjoying the good life. Photos down at Gas Works Park and up at the aforementioned Kerry Park soaked up the rest of the afternoon. Everyone was overflowing with excitement and the weather was as Seattle as could be.
Over at Emerald City Trapeze Arts, the net was being prepared for the show, the LED Trees from Twinkle Trees were getting hauled in, and DJ Nique was doing the sound check. Photos out of the way, there was only one thing left to do: get hitched! At 5:10 the ceremony got going, officiated by Doreen’s brother in law, Scott. With everyone beneath the massive trapeze nets, the LED trees sparkled throughout the background and it was certainly a sight to behold. Magic words spoken, there was the very excited kiss and we had newlyweds.
What other way to cap off a wedding than to do a trapeze show hardly an hour later? At 6:45, the Blue Ribbon staff got everyone seated after a jaw-dropping show, and awaited the arrival of the bride and groom. At 7pm, the newlyweds emerged and got to feasting. Hardly an hour later, the champagne was being poured and toasts were read. Dancing kicked off shortly after, and then came the arrival of some exquisite treats. Street Donuts showed up with, well, donuts, and Sweet Wheels brought the ice cream sandwiches.
Full of the best sweets, the dancers were fueled to keep going for hours. At the end of the day, the celebration had to come to an end. Thank you once again to Doreen and Josh for choosing Best Made Videos® to film your wedding day! We hope you are having a fantastic first year together.
