Everyone doing ok? We are trucking along as things in Washington seem to be calming down, or maybe we are just getting used to it. Nevertheless, we are back at it again this week with our weddings from last year! Back in October when the leaves were starting to brandish their Autumn colors, we headed out to Port Orchard for the Degginger Wedding. A blissfully gorgeous day, the Trophy Lake Golf & Casting Club proved to be the perfect venue for a Fall wedding.

October is particularly tricky here in the Pacific Northwest. It can be either wonderful and nice out, or dreadfully rainy (especially on Halloween!) Our day with the Deggingers could not have been any better forecasted. Spirits were already running high when we got there. Katy and Kevin were getting the final touches put on, and reading their letters. The bridesmaids were in a great shade of purple, contrasting the groomsmens' gray suits quite nicely.

Out near the links, Katy had a first look with her dad before getting put in a golf cart that would take her to a little scenic bridge over an inlet. Standing in the middle of it was Kevin, who turned to greet his bride with a kiss. The sun was bright over the lake and we got to spend a little time in peaceful shade with the bride and groom. Group photos followed, the rolling course providing an expansive backdrop. Soon after were the family portraits, and with no time to lose, led straight into the ceremony!

The altar was set against a beautiful, serene creek behind it, and everything looked as pretty as could be. Be sure to wait for a hilarious moment when Kevin goes to crush the glass. The perfect kiss capped off the ceremony, followed by a little peck after, and the newlyweds made their way back down the aisle. Cocktail hour commenced thereafter, with the husband and wife going off to sign the paperwork and take more photos with their family.

A short while later, they arrived for their grand entrance. Heading off to a covered area, with great views all the same, Kevin and Katy mingled with their loved ones. Dinner was served, toasts followed and then a magnificent four-tier cake got sliced into. First dances followed, and before it was too late we got to go out for some golden hour photos. The lovely golden glow with the empty course was magical.

With little else to do but dance the night away, the newlyweds did so with flickering lights and rocking tunes. Though we did not stay the whole time there is no doubt the party kept on being a total blast.

Thank you to Kevin and Katy for choosing Best Made Videos® to film your wedding day. We hope you have had a great six-month anniversary! Remember to check back soon for a Behind the Scenes look into their wedding day!

How did you guys meet?

Kevin and I met in college in Arizona and reconnected 2 years after graduation when I moved back to Washington and the rest is history!

Tell us about the proposal!

5,500 feet above the Phoenix desert in a hot air balloon at sunrise, Kevin got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I of course started bawling and said yes!

Why did you choose your venue?

Kevin loves to golf and the idea of a golf course wedding appealed to him. I love the rustic feeling to this golf course. It definitely fits both of our personalities well.

What are you most excited to see in the video?

Our reactions to each other as we celebrate our love and the reactions of our friends and family as they celebrate with us.

Katy and Kevin's story in their own words:

We met in Flagstaff, AZ, at a friend’s party, during our final year of college and quickly hit it off. After graduation, life took us in separate directions for a few years but as fate would have it, we reconnected in Washington in 2015. Our first date was in Kirkland where we had dinner and explored the waterfront. After many other adventures together to the Tulip Festival, Deception Pass, Index and even Belize we knew we were meant to be together forever.
