Favorite Wedding Venues of 2019 - Part 1
by Scott Johnson
Is everyone tired of the heat yet? It looks like we have some cooler temps in the forecast, maybe even some rain, so those of us working from home can finally have a break! It pains us as we have had some really primo weekends as of late, but this pandemic has radically altered the year. Never fear, as we are still offering our services if they are following all guidelines, so be sure to contact us about your special day!
We return with our look back to greener pastures (literally) as we take a dive into our Favorite Wedding Venues of 2019. This time around, we are checking out a Cascade winery, quaint farmlands, and a Christmas tree farm. Perhaps you will find the venue of your dreams today!
Who doesn’t love Halloween? Well, a lot of people, actually, but Craven Farm in Snohomish has one of the best Pumpkin Patches and Corn Mazes in the area for those who do. Oh, and it makes for a phenomenal wedding venue, too. With the Conway wedding near the beginning of the summer, and the Chamepeauxes' nearly Autumn, one of the most interesting things you will notice is just how much two months can do in getting the corn grown. Two rather distinct backdrops served the respective weddings, the Conways had a lush green field, while the Chapeauxes had a forest of corn stalks.
Available almost year round for your wedding, they shut down in October for obvious reasons and pick things back up in January. Getting hitched there, they allow for a 12 hour day and 1 hour rehearsal, a rainy day backup (for those rare chances your summer wedding has a drizzle), 300 person capacity and a whole lot more. Both days were spent blissfully in the open air, with quiet fields abound. Oh, and the indoor reception spaces are just magical. Be sure to check out the Conway video for our jaw-dropping drone shots of the beautiful acreage!
In a radically different geographical location, our next favorite venue, Swiftwater Cellars, is described by their website as, “Nestled within the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountain Range.” If that doesn’t inspire picturesque views, an utterly scenic wedding, and the promise of amazing wine, we don’t know what will. We made two trips up to Suncadia in a quick period of time to witness the James and Anderson weddings, and we could not have been happier to get up there as often as we did. Once again, these days were blessed with the best weather possible, and we had a grand time following our couples around the astonishing grounds.
If the beautiful views are not enough to sell you on Swiftwater Cellars, surely the amenities will. On top of being able to hold over 250 people for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies, they also provide all the chairs, tables, a full staff, and hey, free parking! For those wondering about dinner, they have a “choice of menus prepared by our Executive Chef.” Now that isn’t too shabby! A little bit country, a little bit mountainous, a whole lot of wonderful!
If Halloween isn’t your cup of tea, what about Christmas? Well, the Benzings got hitched on October 19, which is still a couple months away from the old holly jolly, but at Trinity Tree Farm there were already some sproutlings. Located south of Issaquah, the weather is definitely unpredictable with its proximity to the mountains. Fortunately, you can select either indoor or outdoor, while also having the relief of a backup. Though, Trinity Tree Farm does recommend having one of their Day of Coordinators hired to make this all run smoothly!
Spending the day with the Benzings, we got to experience all the great surprises that come along with having Trinity Tree Farm as your venue. The cozy lodge rooms that make you want nothing more than to cuddle up with a book were our first stop. There’s shuffleboard, billiards, and plenty of space to have your armies get made-up. And how can we forget about the barn ceremony space. The dazzling lights, big windows and intimate feel all make for a magical indoor wedding. And what’s better yet, the newlyweds could return every year to get their tree and reminisce on their amazing day.
Our final venue for today is one that we are always ecstatic to return to. It is where the founder of Best Made Videos® married his wife, and during normal times you can find him with her during cocktail hour. The Dixon wedding perfectly exemplifies why we love it here so much. Right off the bat, it’s the view. The backdrop to your ceremony is the entire city of Seattle. Alas, you will have to deal with some onlookers as it is a very popular restaurant, but the lower deck opens out right onto the Sound for a magnificent scene. Salty’s, being a restaurant first and foremost, can provide you with delectable meals for your reception as well. Want to take a quick stroll down the waterfront? It would be well worth it to visit the jutting dock for your first look.
Would you be amazed that they can hold over 200 people? Well they can! Its sleek and elegant reception space downstairs from the main restaurant feels like you are in your own world. Their own description really does sell it, “From our breathtaking waterfront views, to our award-winning Northwest cuisine, to our impeccable service, Salty’s on Alki has everything you need.” Who couldn’t say no to that? We certainly didn’t…how can you beat those night time views of the city?
