Boy oh boy does last summer seem like forever ago. Right now, the sun is emerging after it’s long winter slumber and showering us with its glorious rays. Alas, there is a quarantine in place so it feels a little unfair, but what can you do? We are back with a wedding from almost a year ago, just before the shift from Spring to Summer, at one of our all-time favorite venues: The Golf Club at Newcastle. Ready to go foreward? Let’s take a look!

We knew it was going to be a grand day when we saw the clear blue skies hanging over our heads up at Newcastle. The views across the region are unquestionably the best in the area, and they prove to be one of the most accessible scenic locations you can get to easily from Seattle. It was a breezy morning with champagne, mimosas, a little practice at the driving range, and dogs getting all dressed up for their big duties.

Once everyone was all dressed up, there was time for some fun photos outside the clubhouse. While this didn’t last long, the First Look is definitely up there with our favorites of last year. Did you forget about the dog? Of course, the pooch was there, too, looking positively dapper with his pup-xedo. They heard their mommy coming so they turned around even before Garett could. It was exemplary, especially with the lake in the distance behind the fairways, and a happy dog jumping around having a field day. We followed the bride and groom around the rolling hills, catching cute photos of the two looking utterly infatuated.

Photos would continue for a while, bringing the entire party back in for the formal portraits. Be sure to check out the video for all the wackiness the guys and gals get up to with their photos! Even though it was a perfectly splendid day to get wed outside, the Ochs opted for a covered ceremony should there be any unpredictable Pacific Northwest weather. The massive tent, complete with chandeliers, candles, and gorgeous floristry, had more than enough room for their friends and family. After the officiant declared “you may kiss your bride,” the applause exploded and the newlyweds made their way back down the aisle.

The sky was clear, the beer was flowing and the sun was just about to begin its descent beyond the mountains far off in the distance. Newlywed photos with the family occupied the new husband and wife while the guests were enjoying cocktail hour. The reception, once it was all set up, greeted the newlyweds as they came bouncing into the hall. It was going to be one heck of a party! Dinner filled everyone up, and toasts got everyone laughing and emotional. Before the first dances, Val’s Russian heritage had a fantastic “cake-cutting” ceremony, you gotta see it!

Dancing began next, and boy was everyone ready to get grooving. To cap everything off, a proper sparkler tunnel made sure the newlyweds embarked on a fantastic new adventure.

Thank you to Valeria and Garett for choosing Best Made ® to film your wedding day! We hope your first 11 months have been wonderful. Almost to one year already!!

How did you guys meet?

Tinder. I (Val) had a picture of a fat guy as my profile and Garett couldn't resist. We also shared a lot of connections and went to the same college at the same time but never met there.

Tell us about the proposal!

Garett proposed on a secluded beach in Spain during our vacation.

Why did you choose your venue?

Looks and convenience

What are you most excited to see in the video?

Moments of sincere good times as well as moments Garett and I might have missed in person.
