You never know where you'll end up!
Every wedding and video shoot has its own unique challenges and forces us to learn and re-adapt. Today’s post and lesson is, YOU NEVER KNOW WHERE YOU’LL END UP!
For the last day and a half I’ve been following around a group of “angel” investors throughout the greater Seattle area. The idea is that they come to town and tour various space technology companies to get a better sense of what the company is all about, the idea being that they could decide to invest further down the line.
It’s days and times like this where I truly do love my job. I know no other job where you can finish up shooting a Jewish wedding ceremony on Sunday night, to turn around and sign a non-disclosure agreement (being asked if you are a U.S. Citizen because you’re dealing with sensitive space technology information) the next morning. It really can be a crazy whirlwind! Lol
After touring various tech companies throughout the morning (I won’t disclose the names due to the NDA) I wound up with a group of German nationals touring the new Star Wars exhibit at EMP and getting coffee at the first Starbucks in Pike Place Market. Apparently non-US citizens were not allowed to tour the last stop of our day and therefore our tour guides had to come up with an alternative yet fun plan.
I ended my night eating dinner and watching the sunset with a bunch of millionaire investors on a rooftop patio in Sodo whilst tasting whiskey and other local beers with a real life astronaut. You really can’t make up how some of these things turn out.
Today we are at the Museum of Flight preparing to go on a private VIP tour of the facilities with the museum president. The funniest moment however was the moment we walked into the main show room of the museum (the one with all the big airplanes hanging from the ceiling) the entire group froze and started to geek out, delaying the tour by a good 10 minutes refusing to move until they got their fill. It just shows, we’re all nerds deep inside!
What’s next? I think a private lunch and another 5 star dinner tonight at the Edgewater hotel. What will happen in between? Who knows, but that’s what makes it fun!
