Welcome everyone! We hope your April’s are going as smooth as can be, all things considering. We finally have the sun shining on a more regular basis, and our days are reaching into the 60s! Still, we have constant reminders of just how good things can be when the world isn’t such a crazy place, like the Zeigler wedding from the end of September. This wonderful afternoon at the serene Maroni Meadows was a family-run affair, proving that keeping it in the family is often one of the greatest decisions when it comes to your wedding.
On the morning of September 29th we arrived at Maroni Meadows over in Snohomish to start capturing some downtime with the ladies and gents before fully getting ready. Once they were adorned in their ceremony attire, they read their letters to one another before the first look. Almost feeling like a tropical resort, the wooden bridge with little hideaway proved to be the perfect place for the first look. The bride and groom were beyond excited to see each other and embrace in a hug, followed up by a sweet kiss.
There was loads of time for photos as the bridal party and family joined in. The diverse backdrops around the Maroni Meadows made it hard to stop taking photos, but after an hour the bride and groom needed some down time before the big show. Once the guests were seated out in the courtyard, and the bridal party was assembled underneath the gazebo with flickering torches, Haley made her way down the aisle towards John. If you were wondering about the wavering emotion of the officiant, it’s because he’s actually John’s dad!
Following the emotional and stirring vows, John and Haley kissed, officially becoming husband and wife. There were even more family photos to follow before their grand introduction as newlyweds. Joining in on the tail end of cocktail hour, the Zeiglers did things a little differently. The first dance prompted the end of cocktail hour, which led into a superb dinner, and after that there were toasts. As we will learn about in our next "behind the scenes" blog, Haley actually made her own wedding cake!
After that, it was time for the father/daughter, mother/son dances. Keeping it even more in the family (and singing along in the video) is Spencer, Haley’s Brother. Open dancing would finally get going after this, and would keep going until it was time for the garter and bouquet toss. Alas, this would also signal that things were going to be wrapping up. In a flurry of bubbles, and the lights making them look like little fairies, the newlyweds were sent off into their new lives!
Thank you to Haley and John for choosing Best Made Videos to film your wedding day! We hope your first six months have been full of happy memories and delicious food. Be sure to check back in soon for a deeper dive into their family-run wedding day!

How did you guys meet?
We met in our first class of culinary school, and became best friends. We started working on a food truck together and became even better friends. We spent all of our time together- between school, work, and just hanging out as friends- that we eventually realized we were meant to be more than just best friends, but soul mates for life.
Tell us about the proposal!
My best friend took me shopping, "for her anniversary", but really to get me away from the house. As we got back home that afternoon, there was a sign at the top of the driveway with a sweet note from John, farther down there was another note and sign, and even farther is where we stopped and my Mom and sisters were there waiting with another note from John. Where we stopped, John had set up a gigantic tent with a hair & makeup station, a rack full of new dresses, a shelf full of shoes, and everything else I needed to get ready, including several large mirrors, twinkle lights, a fan, and even a full carpet. The effort alone blew me away! My mom, sister, and best friend helped me get all ready, and then gave me another sweet note from John, saying how beautiful I was and that he was waiting for me at the patio. I walked over to the patio, and there were rose petals everywhere, twinkle lights all strung up, the arbor my grandpa made years ago was at the end of the walkway, and all of my family and friends were waiting on the edge of the patio. I walked over to John in the middle of the patio, where he had the cutest speech and got down on one knee, and of course I said yes! We then had our engagement party, which he had all planned out with our family and friends there. It was amazing! He really did a great job!
Why did you choose your venue?
I attended the Snohomish Wedding Tour and loved the whimsical, garden-y charm of Maroni Meadows! I took John to their open-house the following Wednesday, where Deni gave us a tour and we asked about dates in 2020. Just for kicks, we asked about dates available THIS year, and one of them was 9-29-19, which happens to be John's 30th birthday! I initially dismissed the idea, not even thinking that a birthday could be an option. But then we got in the car to talk all the dates over- and John looked at me and said, "What if we get married for my birthday?" and I just laughed, but then I looked up at him and he was just smiling, and it dawned on me- "What if we get married for your birthday!?" I can't even explain the excitement we had in that moment, but we just knew! We got out of the car and booked it right then.
What are you most excited to see in the video?
Everything! We're excited to see our first look reactions and walking down the isle, our vows, the party, everyone having fun, the bubble send-off, and just everything!
Anything else?
Thank you so much for being a part of our wedding and creating such a special keepsake of our big day! We appreciate it more than words can say!
Our Story
Haley and John met on April 3rd of 2017 at the Art Institute of Seattle. Enjoying their first full quarter at the school together, they grew to be good friends. After a class in the Fundamentals of Culinary Arts, they would head over to a Seattle pub and spend their nights with a group of friends, growing closer.
Over time the friendship grew even stronger. After John requested Haley help out on the food truck he worked on, she became a full time employee with John. Working every big festival or event together all over Western Washington, John and Haley sometimes spent 14 hours straight on a hot food truck. They worked 50-60 hours a week, while attending classes together, and would even study in the library until close.
Despite all this time spent together, they couldn’t get enough of each other. They became best friends. When you spend over 100 hours a week working, going to school, and hanging out with a person, and still don’t feel like you see them enough, you know there is something special there. It may have taken John a while to admit it, but John and Haley were always meant for so much more than being best friends. They were meant to be soulmates!
