Seattle has so many distinct and wonderful neighborhoods, each with their own charming characteristics. But while places like Ballard and Fremont are often talked about, sometimes the neighborhoods a little to the south are left by the wayside. Take Georgetown for instance. Lying on the southern border of SODO and the Industrial District, there are tons of great restaurants, shops and even an outdoor market that make it grand. The Cleary – Gawlak wedding certainly helped remind us how great the neighborhood is, especially the Georgetown Ballroom.

A Memorial Day Weekend wedding, though without the blazing hot sun, meant Katerina and Jimmy could get ready without worry about sweating through their clothes. Some tie-tying tutorials kept us the guys busy while the ladies flew through their hair and makeup. After a few glasses of celebratory champagne, we headed off to the Ballroom (which, in reality is an awesome brick-and-mortar building) where even more drinks were to be had as the final touches came together.

Planning your big day at the Georgetown Ballroom is easy and painless. Offering up tables, chairs, a variety of rooms, private courtyard and more, they will also help you find catering to bring food to your reception. The industrial feel gives it a unique feel all on its own.

Before we could even fathom it, it was time for Katerina and Jimmy to get hitched. The wide open area for the reception was slowly filled with loved ones, while dazzling lanterns hung from the ceiling. Katerina descended a staircase with twinkling lights before making her way down the aisle to her future husband. Vows brought on the waterworks, while a humorous officiant kept sobs at bay with laughs. With the magic words, the two were able to kiss and become husband and wife!

The utterly romantic spaces inside, which were low-lit and just the right amount of “cramped” made our newlyweds look like the lovebirds that they are. We got outside for some shots with the bridal party while there was still light in the sky, but soon enough it was time for them to make their grand entrance through a big garage door, “unveiling” the new husband and wife.

Delicious food followed (did you see that cake?) while everyone was itching to get on the dance floor. Once all the chairs were cleared away, it was the perfect space for a dance floor. The lights slowly dimmed down as time went on, and as more and more booze flowed, the bigger number of dancers that joined. Once the strobe lights and disco ball came out, there was no stopping this crowd from busting a move!

Eventually, and not without some reluctance, it was time to call it a night, though the memories will surely last a lifetime. Congratulations to Katerina and Jimmy on your big day! We hope your first month of marriage has gone magically. Thank you again for choosing Best Made Videos® to film your big day!
