“Great company to work with! Treats you like family.

I had the pleasure of meeting Reid and his team during the Seattle wedding show last January. Since our first conversations I knew I would be in great hands. He was very communicative, detailed on what I should expect, and professional. On our wedding day he had a team come and capture every special part of the wedding. Within a few weeks we had our video completed and sent to us with a link we could share to whomever we wanted. It was a great video and captured perfectly! We highly recommend Reid and his team.”

As we come closer and closer to the promised land (Springtime), the days have officially become longer thanks to Daylight Saving. Even if it comes with a miserable Monday afterwards, we cannot wait to get back to having late night celebrations with the sun still peaking out. With just a few days left, we are back today with a look at a wedding just two days shy of Fall. The Demkos lucked out with a warm, ever-so-slightly cloudy day perfect for an outdoor ceremony.

The Olson Mansion in Maple Valley played host to the day. This unique (and historical) wedding venue has existed in one form or another since 1906. Featuring both a barn and a mansion, it is two worlds colliding and creating something beautiful. Much like our bride and groom, Lisa and Josh come from slightly different walks of life. Josh is a little bit country, as evident by his stylish cowboy boots he adorns for the wedding, and Lisa is a Washingtonian who wanted that lovely balance.

There was plenty of fun getting ready; sipping on drinks, playing around in the bathtub, and helping some of the younger members of the entourage get all suave. Josh and Lisa kept it classic and forewent the first look, instead doing family portraits leading up to the ceremony. Out by the barn, an emotional Josh looked beyond excited for his bride who came down the aisle. The picturesque altar set against a hill dotted with trees in various shades of oranges and greens, was about as perfect as it gets. Overflowing with eagerness, the two kissed, becoming husband and wife. Did we mention picturesque?

More family photos followed, this time with both parties united as one. The sun was slowly drifting down overhead, casting a lovely light along the fields and hills of Maple Valley. The rest of the guests retreated to the barn for the reception hall. Recently rebuilt in 2013, it can hold up to 300 people for the ceremony. Worried about it in the winter? It has heating! Once we had captured enough of the newlyweds and their families celebrating with smiles and hugs, it was time for us to head into the barn with everyone else.

Decked out with tables, mood lighting and loved ones, the barn was ready to host a reception that we wish would never end. Kicked off by a wonderfully delightful cake-cutting (boy what a beautiful cake!) the first dances moved us more than just physically, and then everyone joined in. A photo booth with plenty of silly props entertained those too tired to dance, but for the most part everyone seemed plenty happy to be shaking it up on the dance floor. In a flurry of glowsticks, the newlyweds were sent off into the night and their new lives.

Thank you to Josh and Lisa for picking Best Made Videos® to film their wedding day! We hope your first six months of marriage have been as spectacular as your wedding day.

How did you guys meet?

We met through mutual friends. My sisters fiancé is best friends with Josh, and he also works with my mother.

Tell us about the proposal!

He took me to Ocean Shores for our 2 year anniversary. One morning after breakfast, when the skies were clearing up, he asked to go on a walk on the beach. After about an hour when we were getting ready to turn back, he was kneeling over washing off a sand dollar I had found, and before I stepped away he grabbed my arm, and when I turned around he was on one knee and asked me to marry him!

Why did you choose your venue?

He is from Montana and has a lot of country in him. I am from Washington and love rustic, but also love the elegance you can mix with rustic charm.

What are you most excited to see in the video?

The different interactions that I will miss because i’m sure we will be so busy mingling with other people. I’m looking forward to seeing different angles of the wedding, and just the overall experience of the day and to capture the mood and tone of the wedding. To be able to rewatch every year on our anniversary and feel it all over again =)
