How did you guys meet?: We met online! I (Kara) actually went on to delete my profile. I had a rule of not messaging first. However, when I saw his picture I thought he was cute and decided to message him before deleting my account. We ended up talking and then he asked me out on our first date -- to an Italian restaurant in Maple Valley. The second date was AWFUL (he was so tired), but I gave him a third and it definitely redeemed the 2nd date. And now, here we are!
Tell us about the proposal!: After enjoying a wonderful day exploring Maui on our first big vacation together, I could not understand why Robert seemed so flustered to have missed a lookout on the Road to Hana (we had already stopped at a few!) and was upset we missed the sunset as we ate dinner (we had 3 more days!). When he suggested we go walk along the beach later that night, I jumped at the opportunity! The beach and the sound of the ocean are my favorite things. As we walked along the beach lit by tiki torches, I chatted beside him only to realize that he was no longer beside me. I turned around to him down on one knee and asked him "is this real?!" before saying "YES!" And thus, we were engaged!
Why did you choose your venue?: We viewed many venues. We actually saw Farm 12 before it was finished with construction and fell in love. It's beautiful, rustic, and has a lot of charm. The greatest thing is that we bought our first house and Farm 12 is now only 10 minutes away!
What are you most excited to see in the video?: Our first look & our vows! The time together is super important. We're doing this big ceremony to celebrate our love and that's what we want to remember the most. However, it's also important to us to capture grandparents, family, and friends.
When and where's the honeymoon?!?!: Oahu! We leave the next morning (11.08.2021) and are gone until Saturday! We somehow lucked out and I was able to swing it with my teaching schedule and Robert got approved for his time off too. After 2 years of planning, we are SO looking forward to this.
Anything else?: We are so ready and excited to get married :) Can't wait to share the day!
