Ah, remember summer? What was nine months ago seems like fourteen years ever since all this madness started, but soon enough it will be right around the corner. We hope everyone is hanging in there, staying home and healthy, and eager to catch up with more of our summer weddings! This week is full of fresh ideas, dazzling dresses and our first trip to an amazing venue! Here is the Schiefer Wedding:

When you hear that a wedding will take place at a Trapeze center, your first thought is probably confusion (this is far from the norm) but even Emerald City Trapeze knows this and describes themselves as “Seattle’s most unique venue.”

Our day with Doreen and Josh got started at the Hyatt at Olive 8. The rooms were packed with people bustling about getting ready, and there was certainly more than one bottle of bubbly popped. Once everyone of all ages was dressed to the nines with their ties tied, cups flipped, and pocket squares oh-so neatly squared away, we met the bride and groom at one of the most iconic overlooks in the city. Doreen was wearing a marvelous dress etched with flowers and a breathtaking train, and boy was their first look adorable.

A smattering of family photos followed, and we also got some shots of the bridal party down by the waterfront at Gasworks Park. Next, we hopped into the party buses and headed off to the venue. If the dresses alone were any indication of how extravagant this wedding would be, one glance at the wedding ceremony as a whole will make your eyes widen. From the gorgeous lighted neon trees that surrounded the ceremony space, to the myriad of bridesmaids dresses, to the perfect bouquets held by each of the ladies, it was simply a feast for the eyes.

Following the ceremony, the bars were opened and it was time for none other than a trapeze show. You wouldn’t have a wedding at a trapeze center without an actual performance, would you? While guests watched on with mouths agape, others signed the love tree and prayed nobody got injured. After the show, the bride and groom had their grand entrance before digging into dinner. Toasts were given after, which soon led way into the first dances.

This is where the party gets even tastier: dessert trucks were brought in to serve fresh ice cream sandwiches and donuts to the guests. If your mouth doesn’t start to water, there is definitely something wrong with you! And so the dancing resumed and kept going until a new day was upon us!

Thank you to Doreen and Josh for choosing Best Made Videos® to film your wedding day! We hope your first nine months have been as spectacular as your wedding. Be sure to tune back in for the Behind the Scenes look into their wedding day to see all the great vendors the newlyweds selected.

Tell us about the proposal!

On September 1st, the morning after a night out with friends, Josh woke Doreen up bright and early at 6:00am with flowers and coffee. Doreen was confused and tired but the coffee and flowers prevented her from getting cranky. Josh said to get dressed and get in the car (gym clothes okay? yes? perfect!) because we were going for a ride. He took us to Kerry Park. Along the ride Josh played our song and Doreen slowly realized what was happening. There in Kerry Park in front of the city that both of us adopted as home, Josh got on one knee and proposed with some nice mushy words. Doreen said Yes and a nice couple of strangers took our engagement photo. We then shared the news with friends and family on our way home. It was perfect!

Why did you choose your venue?

It came down to two venue options - elegant and formal or fun and unique. We chose the latter and it gave us the freedom to make our wedding night ours and add all of the fun elements we have decided to add.

What are you most excited to see in the video?

Our processional and ceremony of course! The trapeze show and our toasts, and dances. And certain songs on the dance floor with our friends that highlight different times in our lives. Oh, and how awesome our venue is!! And definitely all of the amazing friends and family that have come from everyone to be a part of our big night.
