April 2018 Newsletter
Greetings everyone! Reid here with Best Made Videos®. March of 2018 started off with a fun little surprise in our mail box. Back in February, we were honored to announce that we were chosen as one of The Knot's Best of 2018 winners. This is an incredible honor and it is really a reflection on all of you, our amazing clients, so THANK YOU! Well our trophy finally arrived and I am beyond thrilled to be able to include it in our collection with our 2017 and 2016 trophies! Thanks again for all of your love and support, I couldn't do it without you.

Dorothy and I took a little vacation during the first week of March. Attending the 2nd Annual Pitbul Cruise, we flew from Seattle to Miami to board the 3 day cruise to the Bahamas. With Pitbull, Yandel and Flo Rida (my favorite) all performing on the ship, it really was 3 days of non-stop fun and much needed relaxation! We had great weather, good food, lots of laughs, and fun times along the way. It's always nice to get away from work for a couple of days!

After getting back into town we had the pleasure to head over to Trinity Tree Farms in Issaquah, Wa for the wedding of Angelina and Taylor. Having only heard amazing things about the recently opened expansion of the already established wedding venue, I was optimistic and excited to check it out for myself. A bright sunny day on what could have easily been cold and rainy, Angelina and Taylor had THE perfect wedding day. Surrounded by family and friends and reciting some of the most memorable vows I personally have ever heard, this wedding was another GREAT addition to our 2018 roster of fantastic wedding clients.

I rounded out the month of March by heading down to one of my favorite wedding venues, Black Diamond Gardens, for their annual Bridal Brunch and Open House. Hanging out with an exclusive list of preferred wedding vendors, we welcomed all of the 2018 and 2019 brides and grooms with upcoming weddings at Black Diamond Gardens to come tour the grounds and to get some advice from local wedding professionals. A warm Spring day greeted everybody who stopped by and lots of fun, laughs, and most importantly FOOD was had by all!
Foster Wedding on 2/17/18 at The Washington Athletic Club in Seattle
One of my favorite weddings from this year (and a cheat to include in the March newsletter) was Kristi and Cory's wedding from February 17th at the Washington Athletic Club in Seattle, Wa. Working with some of our favorite wedding vendors like Julianna J Photography and Clutch Events (who handled the wedding planning and coordination), this wedding video is an ABSOLUTE must watch. With details to die for, TWO wedding dresses and a groom who literally is a professional body builder, there's something for everyone in this stunning affair.
Van Cise Wedding on 3/10/18 at Trinity Tree Farm in Issaquah
The other fantastic wedding we had a chance to film this month was the previously mentioned Van Cise wedding from Trinity Tree Farm. Spending the day with these two was sincerely a delight - from fun, easy-going bridal parties to a wonderful, intimate wedding ceremony, the day went off without a hitch. I felt such a sense of utter joy to see these two run off into the night (through their sparkler send off) as husband and wife. It really makes my job worth while! My absolute FAVORITE part of this wedding was the bridesmaid and groomsmen photos before the ceremony. Holding absolutely nothing back, both sets of friends went for it in trying to bring a smile to Taylor and Angelina's faces. From prom pose, to even staging a chase down the tree-lined path, I howled with laughter editing their footage. I hope watching their wedding brings a similar smile to your face!
Monthly Videography Tip!
Make sure you give your photography and videography team plenty of time at the beginning of your day!
I've never finished up a wedding and thought "man we got there WAY too early..." Most of the time it's usually the opposite. There's something to be said for arriving early and ready to work and your wedding day is no different. Having enough photo and video coverage earlier in the day not only gives your teams enough time to adequately capture your getting ready process, but it gives us time to get your wedding detail shots, venue images / video and other small details that we won't have time to capture later in the day. Even if you aren't super interested in footage of you getting your hair/makeup done, all of the other work that we are able to do during that time surely makes up for the extra costs if you need to extend your coverage time for us to arrive early. I try to price our wedding packages to encourage our couples to book us for all the time that they might need during their wedding day without feeling like they are straining the budget too much. By arriving early, we are able to give you a complete picture of your wedding day which is my ultimate goal as your wedding videographer!
My job wouldn't be complete without including a nice image of ROSIE! I caught Rosie taking a snooze on the bed and grabbed my iPhone and snapped this quick picture of her in bed! Love that little friend...
Thank you all for checking out our monthly newsletter! April is shaping up to be another exciting month. I'm headed to New Orleans in a couple of days for Wrestlemania 34, and then it's back to work again on April 14th for another wedding at Trinity Tree Farm. As always thanks again for your support, I'm off to edit some more wedding videos and to update our blog. Have a good one!
