The heat is not over yet, apparently. This last weekend was the hottest of the year, so we hope you found yourselves under a cozy tree or by a cool lake to try and beat the heat. This week’s rather...hot-headed...subjects of our articles would probably have been better suited for last weekend. Instead of keeping things all uproarious, we want to shift attention this week to some more fun stories. While there may be a bit of “mocking” and some big mistakes, there are also...edible spiders and a “bleeding wedding cake.” If that doesn’t get you curious, then you might want to stop reading now!
If you work remotely, especially during this quarantine, then you probably haven’t had to drive much. The few times that you do have to probably accentuate all the annoyingness of other drivers, bikers and pedestrians. Am I right? Well, some people, especially the MTA in New York, have lost all sorts of patience for tomfoolery in the streets. Popping up on Twitter, a video posted shows a massive bridal party strolling in the streets of New York taking photos and holding up traffic.
According to the article from the NY Post, the video shows the “roughly 15-person party ambling down Fifth Avenue near West 41st Street as at least one photographer snaps away.” In response, the MTA “mocked” the video with a Tweet asking, very clearly, “ARE YOU A BUS? (Congratulations and we wish you all the best, but please stay out of the bus lane.)” Surprising that no NYPD were around, but it seems like they got some good angles...but at the cost of internet shaming?
If last week’s crazy hecklers weren’t enough for you, maybe this wedding that is being criticized for “breaking COVID-19 restrictions” will get your blood boiling. What appears to be a rather...flashy...wedding with sparkler cannons, elaborate decorations and a band of drummers, also shows people “cheering and dancing in close proximity to each other.” I can tell you that our founder is very much against germs of any sort, so something like this would not be chill with us. In normal times, certainly, but not during a pandemic.
According to the article, “Guidelines in the area reportedly state that only the bride and groom are allowed on the dance floor” which is interesting in itself, but they continue on to say, “guests also did not appear to wear face coverings in the clip.” Supposedly, guests were made to leave and that the oh-so-poor bride and groom were “‘very upset’” that they were in trouble for not following rules. Come on, now.
Reality show and house-hunting lovers alike must surely know of Selling Sunset on Netflix. If you don’t, then check it out! But all you need to know right now is that host Christine Quinn’s awesome wedding to Christian Richard. As the article says, “her nuptials put the ‘extra’ in extravagant...and that’s putting it lightly!”
Their lavish wedding, which you can watch on Netflix, was “gothic, winter-wonderland-themed” and featured “skulls, gargoyles, and dramatic music.” As we mentioned earlier, there were even edible spiders that came out of “created breakable glittery chocolate skulls” that guests got to crack with “a custom mallet engraved with the wedding date.” They mentioned extra, but we didn’t think this extra.
