Behind the Scenes w/ Best Made Videos® - Shuster Wedding
by Scott Johnson
Welcome back everyone! We hope you had a wonderful Valentines, Galentines or what-entines Day you had so long as you were with the ones you love! In case you missed our initial dive into the Shuster Wedding, be sure to click here and catch up! This time around we are taking you Behind the Scenes to fill out the grand image of the day. So without further ado, let’s get back to the Olympic Rooftop Pavilion at Hotel Ballard.

Melody and James got engaged on February 13th; just shy of Valentine’s Day and the perfect opportunity for a surprise. Playing hooky, James dropped Melody off at work as usual and went on home instead. There, he filled the house with dozens of roses, went and picked her up from work and walked in with her ready to propose!
Our day with them got started at 1:30 in Ballard. With 30 minutes to finish up the final touches (shoutout to Divine Touch’s Christine Byrd) before the First Look, we had plenty of fun getting shots of the location and surrounding streets. Be sure to watch until the end of the highlight video to see one of the many obstacles we tackle to capture the best video. Ballard is so full of unique architecture and backgrounds that we could have spent the whole day there with the lovebirds. Two and a half hours seemed a good amount of time to capture enough footage and photos along with Ben Lucas of NOM Creative.
Back at the venue, Matthew Love of Love’s Events and Jodie Scott of the Stoneburner were making sure everything was ready to go. Katrina Allen of Love Blooms dazzled the with lovely floral displays. 4:30 arrived and so did a welcome rest for about an hour. Cued by harpist Susan W. Hass of The Solo Harp, Melody made her way down the aisle and within thirty minutes we had a husband and wife!
Another rest followed while Melody and James dealt with the pesky paperwork. As previously mentioned, the Olympic Rooftop Pavilion is tied in with the Stoneburner restaurant, which serves up mind-bogglingly good foods like Crispy Castelvetrano Olives and what is literally referred to as “Super Good Grilled Octopus.” The grand entrance at 7:30 set in motion the final events of the evening. First dances preceded the feast, and that led its way into even more dancing once the toasts were over. One last shoutout goes to Deter Rothschild of Over the Line Art who provided wickedly cool caricatures of everyone who sat for him!
By 11am, feet were tired and the venue was about ready to close. So the newlyweds embarked on a new chapter of their lives and we headed on home! Thank you one again to Melody and James for picking Best Made Videos® to film their wedding day! We hope you have had a splendid first eight months of marriage.
