February is off to a wild start! Seattle has a new sports team, an international film won Best Picture for the first time ever (go Parasite!), and well, there is all the stuff going on in DC that we will not talk about here. Lots of fun wedding events have been going on, too and we hope you stopped by to visit us at Weddings in Woodinville! We are back at it again this week with a trip back to Spring! The Shuster wedding was a lovely day spent in Ballard at the Olympic Rooftop Pavilion. Let’s take a look at all the fun they had!

There was not much time between our arrival and the starting of major events. The bride and groom had already been getting ready for some time, so the First Look was just about to happen. On the patio overlooking the city, James waited for his bride rocking a wicked fuchsia bow tie and matching pocket square. After we got enough sweeping shots of them with the city, Olympic Mountains, the Cascades and the Sound, we headed down into the streets. Literally. As onlookers watched us getting shots of the bride and groom, the sun shone brightly in the sky. Plenty of interesting backdrops provided great photo locations as well!

After several hours of photos, James and Melody got a nice break so we went off and got shots of the wonderful venue. Guests began to fill the aisles and it was almost time to get hitched. The cool thing about the Olympic Rooftop Pavilion is that the south and west walls are glass, allowing for wide views of the city and water. Combined with a toasty fire out on the balcony and the awesome circular trellis, it was a beautiful sight looking on from the audience.

Once the bride and groom said “I do,” and the audience exclaimed, “we do!,” Melody and James were married. Oh, and of course there was a kiss. With applause they headed back down the aisle as husband and wife before going off to sign the paperwork. The guests were more than pleased to get served cocktails and other tasty treats while they waited.

Next up was none other than the reception. As the newlyweds made their grand entrance, the same space where they had just had the ceremony was now the reception hall. Since the Pavilion is a major part of the Stoneburner’s restaurant, which serves up some fascinating dishes like a Mortadella pizza and Dutch Fries with Gochujang Aioli. After the traditional first dances it was time to fill up some bellies to get everyone energized for more dancing to come.

A caricature artist captured guests having a great time, and also got us wanting to have them incorporated into every wedding. What fun! Sunlight didn’t go away so fast back in June, so this party kept on going till nearly midnight! Thank you to Melody and James for picking Best Made Videos® to film your wedding day!We hope your first eight months have been going swimmingly!

Melody and James' story in their own words:

How did you guys meet?

DC

Tell us about the proposal!

James proposed on 2/13 at our house. He decorated the house with 17 dozen roses, balloons, and party decors. After he pretended to go to work for a day and picked me up to go home together (we usually carpool to work), he proposed. He cooked hand-made pizza for dinner that night.

Why did you choose your venue?

It's our hood (Ballard) and it has great rooftop views of downtown Ballard/the Olympics mountain

What are you most excited to see in the video?

James and Melody's vows/speeches, guests toasts
