Behind the Scenes w/ Best Made Videos® - Kurdy Wedding

by Scott Johnson

Well, the Chiefs won the Superbowl, thus ending the NFL Season. But that doesn’t mean football is over for Seattle as the XFL Dragons have made their debut. The return of the short-lived alternative league has us all excited (particularly the founder of Best Made Videos®) so here’s to hoping it lasts a little longer this time around! We are back at it with the Kurdys’ wonderful wedding day back in September as it is time to go Behind the Scenes!

September 14, 2019

Sometimes the one person you are meant to spend your life with has been in your presence without you knowing it. That’s the case for Roxanne and Luke, who were in each other’s social spheres for over a decade, but never actually had a conversation. From middle through high school, the two barely even know the other’s existence, until they finally made contact at mutual friend’s parties. Once they spoke and went out to the movies, it was essentially love at first sight. Skip ahead to now, and they have been married since September 14th!

A noon start time meant that a variety of things were happening concurrently. With a separate ceremony location from the reception venue, prep was started at both locations. We arrived right in the thick of things and started getting shots with the groom and his party. Makeup artist Nikki Jones and Hair Stylist Jordynn Jacobowitz were making everyone look dazzling, while Jenny of MacKenzie Designs had all of the flowers arranged.

An utterly romantic proposal is what leads everyone to this day, with a sunset balloon ride (though not originally planned) that would make any romantic swoon. With a few strangers, along with the balloon captain, Luke proposed to Roxanne in the sky! Boy, would that have been a long descent if she had said “no!”

After an hour or so of the First Look, taking photos with the bridal party, and eventually traveling to the Holy Innocents Catholic Church, it was time for the ceremony at 3. As mentioned in our overview of their day, the church in Duvall is a superb place to have a wedding, but in order to do so you often have to be a member of the faith and community for some time.

Once the ceremony was over, there was another hour of photos, this time with the family. Around 5 it was time to head back to the Monte Cristo Ballroom for the reception! Inclusive as can be (the Kurdys obviously opting to have the ceremony elsewhere) with catering and entertainment, the cocktail hour kicked off at 5:30. As it led its way into dinner, and eventually the traditional dances, games and more, the evening really jumped into a high gear at 8:50 when the proper partying began!

Last call was made at 10:15, and by 11pm everyone was ready to hit the road after a splendid day of celebration and love. Thank you once again to Roxanne and Luke for choosing Best Made Videos® to film your wedding day! Think this wedding deserves to go in our Favorites of 2019 Countdown? Send us your vote below!
