How did you guys meet?: Our journey began the summer of 2015 when we both accepted jobs as Orientation Leaders at Central Washington University. We spent the summer building a beautiful friendship full of late night karaoke, early morning staff meetings, cliff jumping, and river rafting. One summer turned to two summers, and two summers turned to year-round-friends.
Tell us about the proposal!: Trevor pulled off the ultimate surprise after a previously scheduled trip got cancelled. Leavenworth has always held a special place in our hearts, often finding ourselves driving there when we just needed to get out of town for the day. (& who could ever forget about the hike to 8 Mile Lake that somehow turned into 14 miles, Trevor waist deep in the snow, and no lake in sight. We have still yet to find the courage to attempt this one again.) Anyhow, it seemed like the perfect replacement trip and if i recall correctly, it was my idea to invite our parents. They hadn't met yet, but I knew as soon as they did our moms would be the best of friends. Trevor hid the ring for 2 months waiting for the perfect time and by some luck, I managed to set the perfect scene for him. He got me dressed up with promise of wine tasting, my nails where freshly painted from a girls trip I had been on the weekend before, and both of our families would be in the same place.
When we got into town, we took a walk down by the river. Between the dirt in my high heel shoes, the sweat running down my forehead, and the lack of wine in my hand, I honestly wasn't being my most pleasant self. I requested multiple times to go back to town and sit down. Despite my less than cheery demeanor, Trevor got down on one knee on the most beautiful spot on the river and both of our parents got to watch me say yes.
Why did you choose your venue?: We fell in love with the view!
