Behind the Scenes w/ Best Made Videos® - Machado Wedding

by Scott Johnson

Welcome back! We hope everyone is keeping their hands clean and away from their faces. The news has certainly been a little on the freaky side (people clearing out Costco of all supplies, flights being grounded), but we are ever ready to try and bring a glimmer of love to everyone. This week, is a return trip to the Machado Wedding from last August that saw quite a bit of venue-hopping. Let’s take a look!

August 23, 2019

Our day with the Machados got going at around 11am with Moch from Jon+Moch Photography. Melroy and Molly were getting ready at different locations, the former at the Marriott on the waterfront and the latter in a cozy apartment down by Magnolia. If ever there was an endorsement for online dating, the Machados would be it: meeting on Bumble (nuts to you, Tinder) the bride and groom spent a month trying to land their first date before finally meeting up for some Gin and Tonics and french fries.

Their proposal happened at the most unlikely of times: 2am in the pouring rain as they were waiting for a cab to take them to their airport where they were flying to Mumbai. Apparently Melroy had the tickets on his phone to cancel in case Molly said no…but we wouldn’t be here today writing about it if that were the case!

Once the bride and groom were looking spiffy and ready to get hitched, we headed over to St. Alphonsus Church for the ceremony. The hour-long ceremony in the serene space was wondrous in spirituality and love. While Melroy and Molly were tying the knot, the reception venue (Bell Harbor Conference Center) was getting fixed for a party. Once we had some newlyweds, we would spend an hour catching photos and video of them outside the church.

With bellies grumbling and thirsts needing to be quenched, the open bar opened at 4pm while the newlyweds took care of the bureaucratic side of things. Blue Ribbon Catering handled the flowers and food, while Bell Harbor took care of mostly everything else! DJ Darin Hanson came ready to supply the music and when 5pm hit, the newlyweds emerged ready to commence the festivities.

An hour and a half later, the traditional cake-cutting, first dances and dessert buffet got going while Molly snuck off for a wardrobe change. She would emerge in a Saree ready to perform the Mangalsutra. After the dazzling display of choreography, the dancing would continue. Dick’s burgers would stop by at 8:45 for some extra delicious nourishment, and the bar would close shortly after.

At 10:30, the party really had to come to an end, even if nobody wanted it to. Thank you once again to Melroy and Molly for choosing Best Made Videos® to film your wedding day! We hope you are having a wonderful first 6-months as husband and wife!
