Has time sped up in 2020? We are already through February and coming in hot on Spring Time. That means more weddings, more sun, and tons of happiness to share with all of our readers. Now that the temps are remaining more in the 40s than the 30s, we are growing exceptionally antsy to be able to take a stroll without a coat. In the meantime, a trip back to one of our summer weddings will definitely scratch that same itch. This week we take a look at the Machado Wedding from August!

From the get-go, the Machados’ big day was filled to the brim with location changes, dazzling dances, awesome food and a stupendous reception. The ladies and gents got ready at different locations, with the former getting all dolled up at the Marriott on the waterfront. It is always a special day to see the union of two people, but the merging of two cultures in a ceremony of love is certainly one of the best things in the world. With the ladies rocking sparkling sarees, and the guys wearing grey suits, there was a brief window for photos before journeying to St. Alphonsus Church.

A truly majestic building, we love getting to come here for wedding ceremonies. As the light streaked through the stained glass windows, and flower petals adorned the aisle, the wedding was soon to begin. With family flanking the nave of the church, wearing almost every color under the sun, it was such a simple and beautiful ceremony in the sight of God and loved ones. Once they got to go-ahead from the priest, Melroy and Molly shared their first kiss as husband and wife before making their way back down the aisle.

Since there wasn’t a first look, it was about time to get some shots of the newlyweds. We headed out with them and their families, catching shots outside of the church. Once enough shots were taken, we got to change locations again. Making our way to the final destination for the day, the Bell Harbor Conference Center, we knew things were going to get quite fun. With a few more shots around the reception venue, the overcast skies were a little unfortunate but it was warm and bright nonetheless.

Following the cocktail hour, dinner, toasts, cake-cutting and the first dance, Molly disappeared to get changed into a saree for the traditional Mangalsutra presentation. A myriad of choreographed dances led the way and inspired others to really strut their stuff when the dance floor opened up for everyone else. After a few hours of partying and celebrating, the only thing left to do was to call the night a very wonderful success!

How did you guys meet?

Like ALL romantic love stories, Melroy and Molly first connected online on a little app called Bumble. After a month of digital witty banter, (Melroy and Molly kept not being in the same place at the same time due to their busy travel and work schedules) their first date took place at a sports bar called The Lodge in downtown Kirkland. They bonded over G&Ts and a bowl of french fries. For the first 30 minutes Melroy convinced Molly that he literally worked on Microwave ovens. After she began recommending to him a full on marketing plan for his startups' cutting edge technology, Melroy finally confessed that he did not in fact work on microwave ovens. He clarified that he was a microwave engineer working on radio frequency antenna systems.  After getting over the fact that she had been tricked by an elaborate ruse, Molly began to realize that mentally, values-wise and humor-wise, that she had met her match. And Melroy, after a thorough investigation and analysis, determined that Molly held the Goldilocks shaped key to his heart.

Tell us about the proposal!

December 19th 2018 Seattle, WA,
Time: 2am
Its pouring outside, i just took the trash out, we have our bags/suitcases packed and are traveling to Mumbai. I just called an Uber for the airport, we had 7 minutes till the Uber came.  I look at Molly and i start narrating " so I'm going on one knee, and I'm going to ask you to marry me and i said a lot of nice things of-course".
Later i told her that i had the itinerary up on the phone when i was proposing to her and if she said no, I would have cancelled her ticket.

Why did you choose your venue?

I asked Molly to answer this and she went "hahahahaha, FML". Bell harbor is great, we wanted a view of the water and treat our guests to a pacific northwest experience.

What are you most excited to see in the video?

Capturing the moment, Speeches (we want to be able to replay every word)
