“Reid came to be our wedding videographer at Rosehill in Mukilteo on August 11. I found him because I posted my wedding needs/details on a Facebook group to which he reached out and I had a videographer within the day! He was very responsive via email so it made the process that much easier. As others have said, he is incredibly organized and on top of it! I knew I could count on him to be reliable and was so excited to have someone so highly rated helping us document our big day. The day of, Reid helped the bridal party and us to feel comfortable, know what we were doing, and took a variety of shots. He also helped us figure out the typical traditional things (ie feeding e/o cake and the garter toss) haha! Reid also finished our video literally within like 3 days!!! And I couldn’t have been happier with it. My whole family had a great time sitting and re-watching the toasts and highlight videos. A highlight video like this really helps you re-live the day, because it goes by so fast! I’m incredibly thankful that we made the decision to have a videographer and that Reid made it happen for us. My grandma, who was not able to make it last minute due to health issues, teared up watching the videos and it meant so much that I got to show her most of the ceremony/highlights.

With each passing week we draw closer and closer to our Favorites of 2019 Countdown. Before we get into the craze of the holiday season, we want to ask you to send us your comments on any of the weddings we have shot! Whether it is your favorite cake, a particularly funny moment during the reception, or simply a comment on the venue, we want to hear it! In the meantime, it’s back to business with more of our summer weddings!
Back in August, we had the pleasure of witnessing the Anderson wedding. An easy drive north of Seattle (though that depends on what time of day, really) and you will find yourself in Mukilteo. Complete with a lighthouse, it is a charming place to have a wedding, especially one that has been in the works for so long!
From the get-go, everyone was all smiles, which really should not be a surprise considering the years of backstory that goes into their relationship! Be sure to check out the Behind the Scenes later on as we learn more about their high school sweetheart romance!
Danica and Cody got to looking rather spiffy, along with the rest of their parties. Iconic views of the sound (how perfect is that ubiquitous ferry?) made the first look even more picturesque. We explored the surrounding area outside the Rosehill Community Center before joining up with the rest of the gang for some hilarious and “seriously” silly group shots. The ladies strutted their stuff across the clearing, while the guys looked like a bunch of cool cats sitting on the fence.
Soon, this same area would become our spot for the wedding, but that would have to wait until after a lunch break and more shots with the family.. White chairs filled the space, and a delightful little trellis was brought out adorned with flowers. Following a spiritual ceremony, and peering over the sound, Danica and Cody made a promise to each other and to God. They were officially husband and wife…after Cody sprung on Danica for the kiss. Remember, they have been dating since high school!
Once the paperwork was signed and the newlyweds had a little bit of a break, they came back inside for the rest of the celebration. Cake, coffee and other goodies were served to give everyone energy for dancing. The wonderful first dances were followed immediately by the traditional tosses, and then it was time for everyone to party!
Before too long the bride and groom snuck off for some photos, returning for their family and friends to send them off in a hot ride and a barrage of bubbles. Danica and Cody’s story in their own words:
How did you guys meet?
Cody and I met in 5th grade when he was supposed to show me around the new school, but I ended up hanging out with the other student. We went to the same school but became friends our junior year of high school. I secretly raced him to finish homework as we were table partners. We had a friendship before he had to leave school for health reasons and when he came back some months later we began talking more and went to junior senior ball, accidentally won some ferris wheel tickets, and then a few weeks later on the ferris wheel, he asked me to be his girlfriend. We went to different colleges for a year but then he surprised me by applying to transfer to PLNU with me. The rest is history!
Tell us about the proposal!
Cody took me out each Friday a month prior telling me to dress up so that I wouldn’t know when it was happening. One Friday my roommate/best friend was leaving since her family was in town so she went home and the other roommate was going to a dinner at her family’s that night. I didn’t think it would happen since they would both be gone for a monumental evening! My roommate even took all her laundry “home” to wash!! Sneaky. Cody and I went to a restaurant in Liberty Station, San Diego, then he said his group project was moved to later that evening so we had more time together. I had signed myself up for a laser tag event with the school and my 3rd roommate told me it had been delayed. Thinking it was just very fortunate, I told Cody we had time to go on a walk he suggested (he had also taken me on several of walks after dinner – it was routine). We arrived at Kellogg Beach and walked down a long path that was lined with red roses and mason jars with candles in it at sunset. He acted like they were just there and said we should start picking them up to which I was shocked and said we might be ruining someone’s special date. He finally convinced me that “it was ok” and we got to the end of the path where I picked up a mason jar with a note on the beach saying “Will you…” and turned around to see Cody on one knee with a ring and a 10′ posterboard sign strung in lights with “Marry me?” being held by some of his best friends.

What are you most excited to see in the video?
The whole thing!! Probably the ceremony which I imagine I’ll be so high on adrenaline and nerves that I won’t remember much. hahaha I also really love hearing vows overlapping with footage from the whole day.
