Summer keeps coming faster and faster, with hopes of getting things back to normal rising each passing day. For those of you making your way back into the workplace, we hope you are remaining safe and healthy. It is definitely still a weird time, but the world is calming down in certain regards. We are back at it this week with one of our wonderful fall weddings that brings the Christmas cheer even before Halloween. It’s time to take a trip to Trinity Tree Farm in Issaquah for the Benzing Wedding!

As we have mentioned before, any weddings past September in the Pacific Northwest are taking an increasing gamble with each passing day. It could be cold, rainy or a typical combination of the two, but for the Benzings it was absolutely perfect. Nevertheless, they did not want there to be any chance of their parade getting rained on, so they opted for an indoor ceremony and the results will make you doubt if an outdoor ceremony would have been as beautiful.

It was a breezy morning with everyone so full of excitement. Wood fires kept the rooms toasty while the bride and groom were getting dressed. After taking a few shots, getting a rack or two of pool in, and putting the final touches on the bride, Megan and Kevin met for their first look. Up on the patio near where the wedding would take place, the bride approached her groom and there were instant fireworks when they turned to meet each other. So many smiles and laughs more, and the rest of the party came on out to keep the photos going.

After an hour or so, Megan was tucked away while the rest of the guests arrived. Full of emotion, happiness and a bride and groom beyond eager to get married, the ceremony reduced many to tears of joy. At the very end, a completely boisterous walk back down the aisle put a nice cap on the ceremony, leading way into what would surely be a fantastic reception.

Some more photos followed while the guests mingled, and soon enough it was time for the grand entrance. The reception space, which also served for the ceremony, was magical with dozens of strands of lights hung across the ceiling. After a filling dinner, their absolutely stunning cake was cut into. An emotional Kevin was so overflowing with happiness when it came time for the first dance, though could that have been for the s’mores that would come once open dancing started?

Nevertheless, the Benzing Wedding was a splendid day full of love and bright cheer. In fitting fashion, a sparkler send-off ushered the newlyweds into their new lives together as husband and wife.

How did you guys meet?

Originally we met online. We chatted with each other quite a bit and after a short while we exchanged phone numbers. Once that happened we started texting and texted back and forth pretty much nonstop for the month covering Christmas break 2010. When we met in person in January, we had even more to talk about and walked and talked for over 4 hours on our first date. We were a couple by the time we texted that night!

Tell us about the proposal!

We got engaged in Leavenworth Washington on a trip to celebrate 7 years of being together. Leavenworth was the same place we had celebrated two years earlier for being together for 5 years, and one of our favorite trips. We went out to a nice dinner after spending the day in town, and went to the park after to exchange cards. Kevin had written a poem in his card, given it to Megan, and ended the poem with a proposal in the snow. Megan was worried about his knee getting cold, but accepted nonetheless.

Why did you choose your venue?

Trinity Tree Farm suited all of the needs for a venue for us. It was close by, had a comfortable ambiance and was presented in a way that made us not hesitate to go forward with it. It also is a place that we can return to in future years for Christmas trees, giving us a reason to return every year.
