Behind the Scenes w/ Best Made Videos® - Benzing Wedding

by Scott Johnson

Welcome back, everyone! We’re entering June now, but the weather just does not seem to want to behave. Like our wedding we are revisiting today, it really goes to show you that any wedding in the Pacific Northwest at any point in the year is a gamble. On one hand, we have the Benzing Wedding in October which was blissfully nice, while on the other, if you had gotten married this past weekend, then you would have been poured on like nobody’s business. Why don’t we take another trip back to the Benzing's delightful wedding with our Behind the Scenes look?

October 19, 2019

We really should start keeping a tally of how many weddings we shoot that were born out of online dating, because it does have a notorious reputation for not being for serious searchers of romance. Megan and Kevin would then chat for an entire month before meeting up after Christmas break almost ten years ago, and once they did it was instantaneous.

Fast forward to October 12 of last year, and it was every bit as wonderful as anyone would have anticipated for a romance as enduring as theirs. Megan and Kevin were already well underway before our arrival at 2pm. The spirited Trinity Tree Farm in Issaquah was chosen for its location, amenities, and for the lovely fact that they will have an annual excuse of going back to buy a Christmas tree.

When we arrived, there was much to do in a brief window. Get the detail shots, a few of the guys and gals leisuring around, and then it was onto the first look. From the get-go it was clear these two were completely smitten with each other. They were beaming with excitement by the end of their first look photos. It was completely contagious as well; once the rest of the bridal party joined in, the fun was through the roof. Meanwhile, Crescent Moon Catering was setting up the food, while Stadium Flowers got the flowers all ready.

At 4pm the bride was tucked away while the guests started to arrive for the ceremony. Half an hour later, everyone was seated, the lights were dazzling and our groom stood waiting for his bride. Not long after that, we had a husband and wife, and it was time to get the celebrating started.

Puget Sound DJ was all set up to announce the arrival of the newlyweds for the reception, after an hour of grubbing and toasts, the cake was cut and coffee was served. Then came the special dances, which were so full of emotion and happiness. Open dancing (and s’mores!) came next and for a reprieve partway through, the bouquet and garter tosses tried to predict who was getting hitched next. Another hour or so of dancing kept everyone grooving until it was time for the sparkler send off!

Thank you once again to Kevin and Megan for choosing Best Made Videos® to film their wedding day! We hope your first year has been splendid!
