If you have wandered onto this page, we thank you! Times are crazy, we cannot be with our loved ones like we used to, and it seems like a lot of the good things we look forward to have been delayed indefinitely. It shouldn’t really come as a surprise, either, that most (if not all weddings) for the next six weeks or so are postponed as well. This is unprecedented to say the least (as is the entire last two months) and will continue to be so. But we are back with more Bizarre Wedding News because, well, weird times call for even weirder news! Let’s take a look at how things are going in the wedding world this week.
One of the hardest hit places by COVID-19 was Italy, which has been on lockdown for quite some time. CNN had their global staff publish personal essays on their experiences with reporting on and living through the pandemic.
Valentina Di Donato, a correspondent out of Rome (who also found love there) was planning on having her wedding within the next few months, but all of that was taken away from her. Slowly but surely, her dream Roman wedding was chipped away at until they finally decided to postpone it until at least October. Be sure to check out the article to see why October actually makes the most sense for them as a couple, and hopefully it’ll remind you that some things can wait!
We have already seen the likes of Bindi Irwin tie the knot in an improvised, much smaller ceremony at the Australia Zoo. But what about the other weddings that have been postponed? Brides.com is here for the update, and it might surprise you who actually had a wedding planned for this year!
While the list is only six couples so far, there will surely be more added later. Some names include J-Lo and A-Rod, who haven’t “officially disclosed whether or not they postponed their wedding,” have revealed their plans have been changed. Of course, there is the royal wedding of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mepelli Mozzi that was supposed to take place at the end of May, which has been postponed to a later date.

If ever you want to get in a loving feeling, Tony Terry’s With You will surely get you there. As social distancing keeps everyone so, well, distant, weddings don’t look nearly like they used to. When Tony was out enjoying the sunshine, he came across a bride, a groom, and their officiant. Moved by their devotion and urge to get hitched, he offered to perform for them their first dance song, live.
They obliged.
So, Tony whipped out his phone and queued up the music and “sang with the voice of an angel.” In happier times, someone like Tom Hanks (who is thankfully recovered from COVID-19) would have waltzed through and taken photos with everyone, alas...a heavenly voice is the perfect replacement.
