I always thought we Americans were always the craziest when it comes to weddings, but for whatever reason, Great Britain has its own fair share of “Bonkers” stories. Now when it comes to dresses, in this case for the bridesmaids, you don’t usually want them to stand out more than the brides. Well, a photo popped up on the aptly named “That’s It I’m Wedding Shaming” Facebook page that shows a bride and her three bridesmaids, only the trio stands out...far out I should say...from the lady in white.
From the photo, you cannot really count how many colors are on these dressed plucked right from the 80s, you also cannot help but notice the vibrant neon shoes, assorted in green, pink and yellow (the bride wore green). In all honesty it looks like her toes are glow sticks from the photo, but in another light it might actually look semi-normal. Of course, they were met with a bevy of criticisms, so we have to ask: would you have been ok with this at your wedding? Is this horrible? Or utterly awesome?

This next article, from Martha Stewart Weddings and written by Lauren Wellbank, poses a rather interesting question in its title “How Many People Is Too Many to Bring Wedding Dress Shopping.”
We’ve seen the shows, and that stupendously hilarious clip from Bridesmaids, but still there doesn’t always seem to be a right answer. In some cases there is an army of ladies ready to comment on how you look, in others it is a more intimate gathering of close confidants. Wellbank goes into a number of well argued points about how to decide who isn’t coming, or simply the fact that “It Does Not Need to Be an Event.” At the end of the day, it should really be down to the bride and bride alone who she wants to come with her on the excursion.
Heck, she could even go alone!
Any number of movies will tell you something or other about revenge. The best revenge, most will say, is succeeding and being happy in the face of adversity. Another article out of Britain is about a Reddit post detailing how the cousin of a bride (Emma) whose wedding was rocked by an engagement announcement of one of the bridesmaids, Sarah. Never do this!
Well, Emma just “kept on grinning” like nothing was wrong. Emma was then picked to be the maid of honor for this new wedding, and as the post says “This is where the fun begins.”
So begins the tale of a precisely timed revenge. In one of her final duties, Emma switched the white petals picked by Sarah to blue ones, “at the very last moment.” When the flower girls, who happened to be Emma’s younger sisters, walked down the aisle dropping the flowers, “Sarah looked very confused.”
Supposedly, “Sarah began demanding to know why there were blue petals,” and the wedding planner “ended up getting a lot of abuse,” for not checking that detail before the ceremony.
Emma, who had planned the slideshow for Sarah, had it playing on a big screen behind those giving their toasts. Once the niceties were out of the way, showcasing some funny photos of the maid of honor and bride, Emma asked Sarah if she was wondering why the petals were blue.
The last photo in the slideshow, timed perfectly with the announcement that she was five months pregnant, was Emma’s ultrasound. Apparently there were a lot of people upset in the audience, but those involved with the scheme, and surely knew Sarah’s jerk move at Emma’s wedding, “cheered so loudly.”
Be sure to check out the article for one last dig by Emma. Though we always have to ask: did Emma go too far? Let us know below!
Hey, a cake article to cap things off! We love cake, and who shouldn’t? This article from Domino, gives some wonderful ideas for non-traditional toppers that can be found in any supermarket.
With a nod to the Pantone color hues, the article suggest to pick one and stick to it in order to “ensure you’re getting the closest possible color match.” Julie Vadnal, the author, says that she was able to head on over to Whole Foods with one and have them make a cake in your selected color. Apparently “they were totally game!”
But that all depends on your theme and colors. The article details how, if you were going for a blue theme, that the simple addition of fresh blueberries arranged in a delightful pattern can make all the difference.
Another shows a pale yellow cake, topped with “Kumquats and their leaves,” in a splendidly delightful fashion. All of the cakes in this article look like art, and are easy enough to obtain!
