Love is in the air as we all just celebrated Valentine’s Day, but so is the cold which makes us crave summer more and more. We have got some weird and wacky wedding stories for you today, from spooky Halloween weddings to scandalous moments from the UK, and traditions that could be done away with. Get ready to laugh, learn and debate as we kick off Bizarre Wedding News!
It has been said before, and as this seems to be a trend I guess we will keep saying it: the UK has some of the most bonkers stories to come out of their weddings. It feels like almost every Bizarre Wedding News we do there’s something to do with them, and this time focuses on a rather salacious moment in the photo booth.
From the article, you can see a couple different photos with the lady in question wearing the red dress. As you will note, she is seen kissing two different men. The first one, with the shark hat, was actually her date. So, no issue there, right? Right!
Except further photos she found herself back in the booth later on…with a different man…who has kids…who were also there…who saw it…while his wife was turned the other way. I mean, come on dude!
So not only is the husband a piece of work, the girl in red is also awful, and all we can do is feel sorrow for the shark man.
What would you have done if this was going on at your wedding?
If there’s anything awful that a guest can do other than wear white, talk during the ceremony or make a general fool of themselves…it’s to A) RSVP late, and B) to show up late to the wedding. So, one couple last year tried to make sure that neither of those things happened with a sarcastic request.
Popping up on none other than Reddit, their invitation stating the September 10th date had lines for “Declines with Regret” and “Accepts with Pleasure.” Underneath that is what draws the most attention: “If you do not RSVP by September 10th please bring a chair and a sandwich.” In a shock for a lot of wedding material that hits that site, there were far more supporters than detractors, with everyone praising the couple. For those who have had to deal with this, what do you think? How was your RSVP process?
No two weddings are the same, though many have more than one element in common. A fun article from Romper digs into some of the more outdated traditions, and which ones we could easily cut out. While most don’t hold much weight anymore (like #4 “put a piece of wedding cake under your pillow) others like walking down the aisle to Wagner’s Bridal Chorus have already been done away with in favor of more personal songs.
Others seem to be a little surprising like opting not to carry a bouquet, moving away from white wedding dresses and veils in general, or not getting signed up for a gift registry. As the article states multiple times, it is perfectly ok to still do any or all of these, but at the end of the day, your wedding is your wedding and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!
We love any chance to film a Halloween wedding. Darker settings, black wedding dresses, gnarly decorations and gruesome grub have been enjoyed more and more over the past few years than ever before. Betches takes a closer look at these fiendish festivities, echoing our sentiment from the last article, “In our society, more often than not, weddings tend to look pretty similar.” Speaking with Dre Fox, the proclaimed, “Queen of Halloween,” who had just gotten hitched at her own spooky celebration.
Their wedding, which was “designed, planned and coordinated by Ashley Nicole Affair,” looks to have been a truly unforgettable event, with guests attending in costume, “so Dre and Josh got married surrounded by loving friends and family dressed as aliens, magicians, pirates and Freddie Mercury. As one does.”
We don’t want to spoil too much out of the article, so please be sure to give it a visit to witness certainly the most terrifying wedding cake we have ever seen.
Guess what? This edition gets to close out with cake news! Of course, this one is also out of the UK, so no surprises there, right?
As it goes with the UK, there is something funky about this cake…because it really looks like a horrible disaster. Dropping £160 for the cake, it arrived at the reception only for everyone to realize it was not only inedible, but also ugly as can be. The bakers had used kebab sticks in order to help maintain its form, and then used craft glitter (rather than baking glitter) to cover it…which made it inedible as is, but then they cut into it to find it was hardly cooked through! Based on the photos, this looks like a poor uneducated baker’s attempt at a wedding cake. When you see what was originally desired, one has to wonder the state of sobriety the baker was in when prepping it.
