Behind the Scenes w/ Best Made Videos® - Bourn Wedding

by Scott Johnson

After all of our excitement and coverage over the royal wedding of Harry and Meghan, it has been a true whirlwind with their so-called “departure” from royal duties. Even though they weren’t the next in line for the throne, their wedding and marriage as a whole has been the talk of the town for almost two years. With the next royal wedding set for this May (Princess Beatrice, cousin to Harry and William), we hope that will finally take the spotlight. In the meantime, we have our own royal weddings to take a look at, and this time around we are taking a closer look into the Bourn wedding, starting with their royally sweet backstory!

September 22, 2019

A story fit for a movie (or rather The Office), Kit and Amie met as coworkers. They often found themselves as office or deskmates, and even played jokes on each other from time to time. Sure enough, they kept it professional and became friends. For a time. A snowboarding accident resulting in a broken pelvis for Amie rendered her immobile, thus needing to rely on Kit and others for help. Over this period of time, the two grew very close and soon enough a relationship blossomed!

The day of their wedding got going with a rehearsal at 11am. Arriving at 1, we were ready to catch the last bits of the preparation process. Makeup was being done by Donna Rae and hair by Jessica from GLAM by Sassy and Misty Frickel of Rain & Co Salon. We got shots of the dresses made by Erin Kincaid of NY and Celeste Boutique, as well as the rings from Federal Way Custom Jewelers. Once decked out and looking spiffy, it was time for the first look!

Along with Events by Heather and Ryan, we got to capturing these two lovebirds boiling over with glee. Spending half an hour with the soon-to-be newlyweds, the bridal party would join in for another photoshoot until the guests started to arrive. After being tucked away to get a little break, the ceremony got going at 4pm. Robert Nygren officiated the ceremony, and the lovely bouquets and garnishes from Flowers by Tiffany accented the hall wonderfully.

Thirty minutes later we officially had a husband and wife. The party enjoyed cocktails and treats for a short while; the newlyweds did as well, though there were plenty of photos taken first. Heading into the dining room of the Monte Cristo Ballroom, food was happily accepted to go with the wine and other beverages. Before long it was time to dig into the magical looking delicacy provided by Happy Cakes & Events.

The lights dimmed down, and the Ballroom transformed into exactly what it was meant for as the newlyweds shared their first dance in unforgettable fashion. The open dancing kicked off shortly after, and kept on until things wrapped up at 11pm.

Thank you once again to Amie and Kit for choosing Best Made Videos® to spend your wedding day with you! We hope you had a romantic first Valentine’s Day together.
