“Reid is amazing!

We weren’t planning on hiring a videographer but ran across Reid’s videos on youtube and really enjoyed his style. We made the right decision in hiring him. He is very responsive and informative. We scheduled an initial phone consultation and ended up booking Reid for our wedding.

Close to the day of, Reid made sure to follow up with us several times. This put us at ease. Reid promptly showed up at the venue with his 2nd videographer, Joel and introduced himself. He was like an old friend. Reid is professional, easy to talk to, work with, and has a wonderful sense of humor. Not to mention, he worked quite well with our photographers.

We were very surprised at the quick turnaround with all the videos. We really enjoyed the highlight, the longer video, and the ability to download snippets of all the videos he took. There were so many little events we didn’t see or notice. Photos of our special day are one thing but adding video really captures the day.

Reid is active on his social media accounts. I highly recommend following him on his Instagram because it’s amusing to watch him journal the day’s events leading up to our wedding — from him getting gas, to coffee, to the traffic he dealt with, etc. I highly recommend Reid!”

Have you seen any blossoms yet? That means Spring is almost here and we simply cannot wait. After not seeing a true “sunny” day for weeks and weeks (it was truly record-breaking), we can definitively say that Spring needs to get here now. Though by Pacific Northwest standards, there is still going to be rain…but at least it will be warmer.

In between offering up sacrifices to the sun-gods, we like to head back to our weddings from those warmer times. This time around we are taking a visit to Everett for the Bourn wedding back in September. Our day with Amie and Kit got going a little while after they had already been underway with getting the rehearsal out of the way. We caught up with them while they were getting polished up by the hair and makeup teams. There were smiles all around before we even got to the First Look, but ever more-so once we got to it.

The courthouse-like interiors of the Monte Cristo Ballroom added a sophisticated flare to the venue, as was everly-abundant during the couple’s First Look. We ventured around the quaint interiors for a while, catching shots of them on the upper floor through the lovely chandeliers. The lovebirds were so full of excitement to get hitched, but that would have to wait until more bridal party photos were taken. Goofy smiles and splendidly dressed kids made all of our jobs much easier as the spirits were through the roof.

Once the memory cards were full and the film was shot, it was time for guests to arrive and get the show on the road. The two-tiered room which served as the main base for the first look now was ready for a ceremony. Chairs filled marble floors, a fire crackled behind the bride and groom, and lovely white flowers garnished the alter-place and elsewhere. Vows shared, laughs had and tears shed, the officiant ushered in a new era for Kit and Amie as he declared them Husband and Wife. Pausing for a kiss and a dip partway down the aisle, glitter and confetti fell from the balconies above for a picture-perfect moment to announce their new union.

The rest of the family joined in for the newlywed photos, but we also got a window of time with the two alone out in the streets and alleyways of Everett. Hardly able to keep their hands to themselves, they looked absolutely blissful. But soon this little “honeymoon” would take a break for the reception. Dinner, toasts and the cake-cutting of a true piece of art zipped us throughout the big milestones of the evening. Once 8pm hit it was time for dancing and games to begin. In the same room where they just tied the knot, the newlyweds partied the night away with all their friends and family.

Amy and Kit’s story in their own words:

Kit and Amie used to work together.

We’re both in the Information Technology field. At times, our offices and desks were adjacent to each other. We used to play pranks/jokes on each other. We even hung out together quite a bit and became close friends. Never in a million years did we think we’d end up together.

One winter, we went snowboarding with some friends at Crystal Mountain Ski Resort. Amie caught a bad edge on her snowboard and cut the trip short by breaking her pelvis in two locations. OUCH! Kit was a good friend and drove Amie to the nearest hospital in Enumclaw, which was 25 miles away. Every bump and turn was agonizing for Amie. The horror on Kit’s face! A nice gentleman even helped Kit carry Amie to a wheelchair in front of the emergency room. The staff at the hospital thought we were husband and wife. HA! We weren’t even dating then.

Kit and Amie lived almost next door to each other. Amie being quite independent had to be dependent on others. This was Kit’s chance! Kit helped care for Amie when she was quite immobile. He was given a copy of keys to Amie’s front door. Kit would set up a breakfast tray with hot tea with Amie’s pain pills, and even a nice vase of flowers before he left for work in the morning while Amie was still sound asleep. Kit would then come home from work and help care for and entertain Amie by playing video games with her. Amie saw a very endearing side of Kit and our relationship started to form from there.

The PROPOSAL

We went on vacation on the Big Island, Hawaii 2 years ago. Kit proposed on Waikaloa Beach as the sun was setting. It was quite unexpected and very romantic. Amie had tears running down her face! A woman nearby started to sing Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” at the same time. The timing could not have been more perfect! However leading up to the proposal, Kit held onto the ring for more than a week trying to find that perfect time to propose. The day he decided to propose, Kit was acting very strangely. Amie kept stalling and wanted to take photos of everything. She almost ruined the proposal time unbeknownst to her. Ha! We had just come from visiting a pricey chocolate/cookie shop. When Kit handed the ring box to Amie, it was in a cutely wrapped box that looked like Kit had purchased something from the chocolate shop. Amie’s first reaction was “Awe… we’re going to share some chocolate together as the sun is setting.” Little did she know…

The RELATIONSHIP

We both have been in interesting relationships in the past and we both feel that we should never regret any of it as it has created who we are today. Without those experiences, we may not have been together. We both enjoy spending time together and going on road trips, exploring whatever we can. We love learning and seeing the excitement in each others’ eyes. We have the same vision of life. We also respect each other as individuals. We have our own hobbies, friends and respect that about each other. Everything we both have wanted in a relationship, we have. We are able to tell each other anything. We are best friends. Is it strange we never argue? It just seems too good to be true…. so here we are, we both could not be more excited to tie the knot and we are happy you can join us on this special day.
