What the heck is with this July weather? Facebook memories reminded me that a few years ago at this time, we were already pushing 90 degrees, before 9am, and now we are hardly seeing 75! Strange times abound, especially with all the wackiness going on around the rest of the world, which means it’s that time again to explore the Bizarre Wedding News that has caught our attention. From wedding rings to near-disastrous wedding photoshoots, and ultimately a debate about guest attire, buckle up because things are going to get weird.
One of the biggest trend-shifters in recent years has been the movement away from traditional gold and silver engagement rings/wedding bands. Whether it is due to money, a metal allergy, pure design preference or otherwise, there are a lot of other alternatives to symbolize your union. Heck, some people just get a tattoo, but those tend to be a little more permanent.
Bridal Guide just came out with a number of marvelous wooden wedding rings, offering up hypoallergenic solutions as well as ravishing pieces of art. Take for instant the Tungsten Carbide ring, which is “one of the strongest materials on earth, making it extremely durable.” The sleek silver exterior is contrasted magically with the rainbow of colors on the inside. Be sure to check all of them out!
Even though there are multiple states that have ordered us to stay away from beaches and outdoor gatherings, there are still those who defy the mandates. In this case, Mother Nature was the one issuing swift retribution. A bride and groom were out taking their wedding photos on a Southern California beach when a “massive wave came barreling into shore and swept them into the rocky Pacific Ocean waters.”
The situation was being recorded by eyewitness Ionel Coroama who watched from above the water as lifeguards were called, and eventually the Laguna Beach Fire Department. Fortunately, “neither was injured during the traumatic incident.” It should go without saying after this ordeal, but never turn your back on the ocean!

Every once in a while we see a story like this roll by. A guest wears a rather questionable dress to the wedding and it immediately is wondered if they are trying to one-up the bride, steal the show or are just too ignorant to realize their faux-pas. As described by Yahoo! Lifestyle, the dress “features see-through lace panels on the torso and another from her mid-thigh to the bottom of the dress.”
Of course, there are quite a few commenters up-in-arms about the dress and how insulted they would be if someone attended their wedding with said attire. There are others who think it might be a little tacky, but nothing too egregious. So now we must ask you, what do you think? Is this too much? Or just an overreaction?
