There’s been a bunch of wild wedding news over the past few weeks (Sophie Turner getting hitched to Joe Jonas in a Vegas chapel, Royal Baby alert, and ScarJo and Colin Jost getting engaged) on top of the conclusion to Game of Thrones and Avengers: Endgame, so we have been pretty emotionally drained! Nevertheless, we will persist through the sadness and continue to bring you weird, wacky news! This week we’ve got some dresses, bridesmaid advice, and some cake with a woefully sad ending! Let’s get down to it!

I don’t know much about the modern rap scene, so if you can fill me in a little more about who Lil Xan is that would be great. Either way, he is about to start a family with his fiance Annie Smith. He broke the news on Instagram, in which he announced that “it’s official, I’m going to be a father.”
Alas, there is no ring yet as Smith explains they are “very unconventional.” Ring, no ring, there’s still an engagement which means we will be covering their wedding when it finally happens! Smith had a few thoughts about their wedding, which is likely to be “super, super intimate.” They haven’t ruled out the idea for a large reception, but the wedding will be without too many glaring details for the time being!

Though it has taken quite some time, the wedding dress is finally seeing some modern updates and breaks from tradition. While the role of Maid of Honor ultimately takes the brunt of the extra responsibility for the bride, the bridesmaids often also have their fair share of work. This article really digs into some little (but major) changes a bride can make to ensure their bridesmaids have a grand ol’ time.
For instance, two minor adjustments to the wardrobe can allow for emergency prep and comfy feet. Opting for dresses with pockets can allow bridesmaids to carry band aids, extra make up, or the quintessential tissues for when the tears start to flow. Cake is the best...which is why I always try to cap off the week with a tasty, fresh-baked story about it. Alas, this one is rather upsetting for the groom in question. This is a double first for us: on one hand this is the first wedding story we’ve received out of Ghana. On the other, this appears to be the first time a wedding has been ruined because of the cake.
Supposedly the friend of the slighted groom, a Twitter user detailed the breakup. In his tweets, he explains the bride thought her fiance’s budget was too small, which meant she could not have the cake she desired. In the end, he summed it up by essentially saying his buddy dodged a huge bullet. We can’t help but agree!
