Bizarre Wedding News - June 21, 2019

Seattle is a that weird time of year where it can’t quite get over the hump into Spring/Summer. Gray days still dot our weekly forecast, but the sunnier days are staying brighter and warmer for much longer. This is good news for us since we will be spending most weekends outdoors and around weddings! We have some fun, exciting and helpful articles coming your way, though do be aware that this week gets a little bit violent! Buckle up!

Now this story is pretty cool! Over in Britain, a competition has been running to find “Britain’s Best Bridesmaid.” After receiving over 500 submissions from brides ranting and raving about their bridesmaids, the competition has been narrowed down to a select 14!

These aren’t simple, “oh my bridesmaid was the best” stories. No, these are “one woman performed an emergency medical procedure--despite having no first-aid training--and managed to save the bride’s leg from being amputated” stories. So, if you don’t have one of those stories, chances are you won’t, well, stand a chance!

Check out the article for some of the other submissions!

While we’re on the subject of bridesmaids, why not get some ideas for gifts to give them when you pop the question for them to be a part of your wedding? Thanks to Brides.com, there are twenty great gifts to choose from and inspire you.

A good portion of the ideas are “Bridesmaid Boxes” which house any number of fun treats and treasures. Some include mini bottles of champagne, a makeover-in-a-box, and even candles or bath salts. The possibilities are seemingly endless, and you can opt to make your own or choose one from dozens of companies!

I’m sure it crosses every bride or groom’s mind: what if my ex shows up? I would guess that the vast majority of weddings don’t have an ex showing on up, otherwise we would likely be talking about them more if they went viral! However, we have quite the tale for you...and it’s not what it seems.

Alex and Nick were in the middle of getting married when out of nowhere, Alex’s ex shows up to ruin the day. Nick, then furious, choke-slams the intruder through a table!

But what if I told you this was all staged?

It certainly was! Both bride and groom were in on it, yet nobody else was! Check out the video for some hilarity!

We’re capping this week off with bridezillas...and cake! It’s a little bit of “best of both worlds” as a bride-to-be took to social media to bash a cake she had received from celebrity baker Jordan Rondel of The Caker. Posting, “this is the ugliest cake I’ve ever seen. I want a full refund.” Upset that she somehow received something less than what she paid for (she did go to a celebrity baker after all) the cake does look noticeably bare aside from some flowers tucked into its two layers.

Rondel later responded “I started The Caker in 2010 and to this day have never experienced anything quite like this.” Rondel eventually refunded the money to the upset customer. Now tell us, what are your thoughts on the cake?
