Welcome everyone to another wonderful week of weird wedding news! With June in the rearview mirror we have officially arrived at summer and to even more weddings! The frigid winter seems so long ago, and now we can embrace the sun and warmth for a week before we start complaining about it being too hot! It’s time to get down to the updates, so let’s get cracking:
Proposals are one of the most nerve-wracking moments in your life. You would think that by the time you are ready to actually get down on one knee, that your partner is as ready if not more so than you are. So what happens when they say no?
Colin Jones, who this year is 72, has asked his partner Pauline around forty times. Each time, he got a “no.” The two have been together since 1976, so the persistence certainly didn’t scare Pauline off. But what gives, Pauline?

Well wouldn’t you know it, it’s time to talk about a royal couple again. This time it was Kate and William who made headlines for being a little more affectionate than what is perceived as normal.
While you might think they were full-on making out in public, the royal couple has a little bit more class than that. Back in March they were attending an event at Belfast’s Empire Music Hall, where they were caught breeching each other’s personal bubbles for hands-on-backs and arms around waists. That might seem pretty tame to you, but for these two (and not newly weds Harry and Meghan) this is certainly fresh!
For guests of any wedding, other than the ceremony itself, the reception (along with whatever delicious food) is going to be the most exciting part of the day. Whether you have giant banquet halls of food, or something a little more intimate, that dinner brings everyone together after the bride and groom get hitched.
One bride in England has decided that she needs to cut costs for her wedding, with the major cut coming in the food department. Meaning, she won’t have any. Her friend (who is also a bridesmaid) went to social media with her concerns. Primarily, because instead of food, the money went towards a bon fire, handmade items and other potentially superfluous purchases. It appears there will also be booze, which does not bode well for anybody drinking on an empty stomach…here’s to hoping they decided to pitch in a few more pennies.
Married at First Site is definitely an interesting social experiment. Putting together three random couples based on expert analysis, they agree to marry “at first sight.” So they marry the couples, send them on a honeymoon, and then move them into a house four eight weeks before deciding if they want to move on or not.
Well, one of these couples have gone the distance. Jules Robinson and Cameron Merchant are reportedly getting hitched “again,” but this time a little more real. Jules was seen shopping for dresses a few months ago, and the couple was also spotted checking out engagement rings. Best of wishes to them!
For those of you living in the UK, Whistles (a wedding dress company) has started a new bridal collection with some solidly affordable dresses. For as low as 499 euros, you can get something beautiful and fitting. Of course, there are going to be far more expensive dresses, but if you fall between sizes 4 and 16, it might be worth your time to see what they have to offer!

Guess what? Here’s another Royal Family article for you! This one focuses on Princess Eugenie. If you’re anything like me and have never heard of Princess Eugenie, well I’m sure glad I am not alone on this one. Her wedding to Jack Brooksbank was a lovely day as they tied the knot at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle last October, but now it’s her dress that is once again garnering attention. Coming from Elle, her dress is now on display at Windsor Castle in a special exhibition. She even recorded her own audio guide for it, and shares details about both dresses (the first one showed off her scoliosis scar, while the second was inspired by Grace Kelly’s attire in To Catch a Thief). Idris Elba, or the man who was cast as The Gunslinger in The Dark Tower and should absolutely, 100% be the next James Bond, is essentially a gift that keeps on giving. Dishing out phenomenal performances at every turn, many were surprised to learn he was a wicked DJ as well (and plays one on Netflix).
He recently told Ellen DeGeneres the story of how Prince Harry asked him to DJ his wedding to Meghan Markle. Apparently the two had known each other from over the years, and at one party Harry popped the question to him, only to be met with skepticism and shock. Don’t forget, he also performed at Coachella, too!
