Welcome back, everyone! Now that you have gotten a taste of the Chavez Wedding as a whole (complete with a block party, taco trucks and tons of goats), it is time to dive back in with our “Behind The Scenes” look into their wedding day.
As was teased in the previous article, Christian and Shaylin actually met at a wedding years prior to their own. Christian was the best man, while Shaylin was one of the bridesmaids! What’s more, is that their passion was so intense that Christian delayed his return home so they could hang out some more. Like a script for a movie, Cristian returned to Wyoming while Shaylin headed back to California to finish up her masters program. Within the next six months, countless hours were spent talking on the phone, and Shaylin had moved to Wyoming to join Christian!
When a planned trip through Glacier National Park impeded with a snow blockage, they created an entirely spontaneous trip day by day. On the last day of their trip, they hiked up to the side of a mountain and Christian proposed! Where’s that movie script?
A noon start was precisely how we knew this wedding was going to be a warm, welcoming celebration. The ceremony would not happen until 5:30, and that left an entire afternoon to take at their own pace. Heck, the boys didn’t even start getting ready until 3! We arrived at 2:30, followed shortly after by the photographers from Lily & Lime.
Shaylin’s first look with her dad would kick off the major events as well as add to the suspense for Christian. It was one of Shaylin’s requests to have this moment captured between her and Christian as the ceremony kicked off. Thanks to all of the coordination by Shaylin’s aunts (who also did the flowers) the wedding went off without a hitch.
After the two love birds became husband and wife, group photos were taken up the road at the Japanese Gulch park. While everyone was getting all goofy and blasting the most excited smiles, the block party was kicking off just so it would already be in full swing for the arrival of the newlyweds! We got a few more shots of the bride and groom among the trees, and then it was time to rock.
Grabbing some grub, it would be about an hour before the first dances would come. The “reception” area was mostly the block, but also the same place in the backyard as the wedding was held. A jaw-dropping sunset over the sound was a splendid touch for the end of the day, with everything wrapped up around 10:30!
Many thanks to Shaylin and Christian for picking Best Made Videos® to film their wedding! We had such a blast and hope your first few months of marriage have been as grand as could be.
