Spring may very well be just around the corner, but it would appear that there is still plenty of chills to be had. Just as flowers are beginning to blossom and bring forth a plethora of beautiful colors, the leaves in the video were right at the start of their own transformation. And so the seasons go! Returning once again to our summer of love and warmth we are taking a deeper look into the Demko Wedding at the fabulous Olson Mansion. Ready to dive in?

As they say on their The Knot page, “What better way to start a relationship than being friends first?” In a few acts of fate and sheer coincidence, groom Josh (who works with Lisa’s mom) became pals with a few of his coworkers…one of which (Sean) began dating Lisa’s sister. Are you following? Good. Over the years, Sean would poke fun at the two suggesting that they are “perfect for each other.” They brushed it off and “just rolled our eyes.” As destiny would continue to play its hand, after an evening with friends they would continue it on their own, talking the night away. A few weeks after they had started dating, Lisa told Josh, “I am going to marry him someday.”
And so began the journey to Olson Mansion, where the two friends would become so much more than that. Under the expert eye of Makenna Martin from Moments Like This, our nine-hour day with the newlyweds and Amanda Kuklinski with Olive Juice Photography got going at 1pm. It was a pleasant afternoon out in the serenity of Maple Valley. The weather was pretty typical for the time of year, blessing us with splotches of golden sunlight at the most opportune of moments. After the ladies and gents were dressed up, separate family photos took place. The bride and groom were keen on keeping things traditional, and preferred to wait until the ceremony to see each other.
There are far too many reasons to list why the Olson Mansion is a marvelous wedding venue, but for the Pacific Northwest in particular it exceeds in having multiple eye-popping ceremony locations. Whether it be against (or inside) the rustic barn (which was once an actual dairy bar, though it was rebuilt within the last decade), or out on the stone altar set against rolling hills like the Demkos chose, there is always a beautiful place to say “I do.”
A close friend sang as the bride made her way down the aisle, and before too long we had a husband and wife. After a scrumptious dinner, the newlyweds were treated to a delicious cake from Brianne Day of Spilled Butter Desserts, which promptly led into the dancing portion of the night. Overseen by DJ Jason Tokia of Injoy Entertainment, countless classics got everyone dancing and singing along. If only days like this didn’t have to end!
