Spring is almost here! After a chilly start to the year, along with the always depressing news about diseases, deaths and otherwise, we are beyond ecstatic to see the sun and outdoor weddings again! We’ve had some wonderful winter weddings thus far, but the temptation of blossoming flowers and sunlit evenings is too much to resist. As we wait, twiddle thumbs and countdown the days to more consistent sunshine, let us take a deeper look into one of our favorite weddings from the summer: the Lopez – Atherton Wedding!

In yet another case for the power of online dating, Dave and Annie met on OkCupid! Annie, particularly, should have the highest praise for the service as Dave was her very first internet date. Cupid certainly struck true for these two, and the rest has been utter bliss with two different proposals! Apparently, Dave had popped the question while vacationing in Cuba, but Annie felt they should wait just a little longer. In turn, she proposed to him just two years later! Didn’t expect that curveball, did you?
It was a late arrival for us to the scene, as far as weddings go, as 3pm comes long after the preparation period is over. Along with Erica Nichole, we got to capture the remarkable first look on a bridge! A half-hour later, the family joined in on the fun and the wildly beautiful Arboretum never let down with locales to shoot in. One of the reasons the newlyweds picked the venue was their mutual love of nature and parks, along with public services. As Annie says, “we’re happy to be supporting a beautiful space that everyone in this area enjoys for free.”
At 5pm the guests began to arrive at Wisteria Hall, which is definitely in the running for coolest wedding venue names. Thanks to Jelena Krzeszowski of JBK Weddings, the day was flowing smoothly and with the pinnacle of fun. Kicking off at 5:30, the ceremony (along with much of the rest of the wedding) was kept close and personal, with the officiant being a close friend of Dave’s. Aside from Pyramid Catering and Jelena, everything was provided by family and friends!
At 6, we had newlyweds and it was time for some cocktails! Of course the document signing as well, but that did not take long so we squeezed in some more family photos. Arriving at 6:30 for the rest of the evening, the bride and groom spent time mingling with their loved ones. Dinner was served at 7, speeches and toasts were given, and soon it was time to grub! A second serving of toasts followed the main course, leading way into the cake cutting and ultimately the dances! Two hours of dancing later, and the day sadly had to come to a close.
