How’s everyone holding up at the end of another week of quarantine? If you’re in Washington, you may be facing a whole ‘nother month of stay-at-home orders, which isn’t too grand considering May is when the temp starts to go up. Nevertheless, we must persist through this if we want a return to normalcy. Ready for another trip back to one of our favorite fall weddings? Let’s go Behind the Scenes with the Mackies, who just so happen to have a family connection to the Zeigler wedding; both brides are sisters!
October 12, 2019
Almost exactly three years prior to their wedding, Jami and Kenzie were out drinking at bars. Jami, alas, was not 21 just yet, but had a friend’s ID that got her in (despite being completely non-identical.) After a while, their bubbles merged and Kenzie started hanging out with Jami and her friends. Bleeding into the next morning, they finally started a flirtation and it was smooth sailing from there.
Their day at Green Gates at Flowing Lake was precisely coordinated nearly down to the minute. We arrived at noon with photographer Caitlyn Nikula and quickly started getting shots of the bride and groom getting ready. Salon Maison was on duty with the hair and makeup. Half an hour later and we rolled right into the first look. For the next two hours or so, we got shots of the couple, the bridal party, and finally the family. The serene nature of the estate was simply breathtaking!
Meanwhile, the rest of the vendors were arriving and setting up. Veraci Pizza had the dough, PJ Parsons got ready to DJ, Party on the Rocks set up the bar, and Flowers by Tiffany brought the lovely bouquets and centerpieces. Before the bride and groom could celebrate with all of the above, there was a wedding standing in the way! It kicked off at 3pm with I Was Made For Loving You by Tori Kelly and Ed Sheeran, followed You Are The Reason by Calum Scott for the bride. At 3:30, when the officiant (Jami's brother Spencer) declared them married, we had a husband and wife!
Cocktail hour followed with marriage certificate signing as well. At 4:30, the newlyweds emerged and got ready to dig into their pizza. Once everyone was stuffed with amazing pizza, toasts were read by Jami's dad and Kenzie’s parents, as well as the bridal party, capped off by Kenzie himself. Cake-cutting was next up, and then the first dances. Jami and her dad danced to Just Fishin’ by Trace Atkins, while Kenzie and his mom brought it home with Stand By Me by Ben E King.
Open dance began right after, with everyone getting groovy with it. Though it was an early night, there was still plenty of time for a proper bubble send off for the newlyweds. Thank you once again to Jami and Kenzie for choosing Best Made Videos® to film your wedding day! We hope you are doing well and surviving quarantine!
