On your wedding day, you can only be in so many places at once. As a skilled videographer, I am there to capture the special moments you may have otherwise missed, like your groom walking down the aisle, your families meeting for the first time, or one of your groomsmen doing “the worm” after a couple of drinks. Since your wedding video will be played over and over again, it’s natural for you to want to look your absolute best. Here are a few tips to help!
Tip #1. Choose an Experienced Videographer
There are numerous factors to consider when choosing a videographer, from their familiarity with your venue to how well you get along with them. An experienced wedding professional will be able to direct you without it feeling “forced” or “uncomfortable.” Instead, they will be able to capture you and your new spouse (as well as all of the previously mentioned moments) in a way that is beautiful, seamless, and “you.”
Tip #2. Schedule an Appointment with a Cosmetic Dentist
Your smile is one of your most prominent features. If you’re struggling to feel your best because of misaligned, stained, or otherwise imperfect teeth, then it’s time to schedule a consultation with a cosmetic dentist. After learning about your concerns, they can create a custom treatment plan to deliver the smile of your dreams. In fact, there are some services, like veneers, that can be completed in as little as two visits, so it’s never too late to schedule an appointment!
Tip #3. Get Your Hair and/or Makeup Professionally Done
If you’re a makeup enthusiast or a professional hairstylist, then you may feel happiest doing your own “glam” on your wedding day. If you are less than confident with a makeup brush and styling tools, however, then it’s best to get your hair and makeup professionally done. Booking a trial run beforehand will ensure that you look and feel as beautiful as you are, which will translate in your wedding video.
Tip #4. Focus on Getting Quality Sleep
With so many to-dos, it can be easy to swap sleep for getting back to guests, planning your honeymoon, and adding things to your registry. However, it won’t take long for restless sleep to make an appearance via blood-shot eyes and dark under-eye circles to match. Not to mention that you will feel sluggish and more irritable as well. Therefore, prioritize sleep, especially the week leading up to your wedding. Putting your phone away an hour before bed, creating an evening ritual, and listening to calming music are great places to start!
Tip #5. Have Fun!
Once your wedding day arrives, there is nothing left to do but have fun. Genuine smiles and laughs will look the best on camera, so do your best to enjoy the day to the fullest!
Unless you are an influencer or celebrity, you probably aren’t used to having a camera follow you around. So, it’s natural to be a bit curious about how to look your absolute best. From hiring an experienced videographer to booking an appointment with a cosmetic dentist, the above tips are a great place to start!
