“Last minute we booked Reid and company to capture our wedding. Let’s just say that we are overjoyed by the results! We now have a wedding video (that we’ve watched easily 20 times already) which captures the essence of what our celebration of marriage was. The whole big day can be a huge blur, thus, a bit hard to remember all those juicy details you worked so diligently to plan. In retrospect we couldn’t be more happy with how our experience with Best Made Videos transpired. Thanks again :)”

We really are in the thick of it, folks! Everyone should be huddled up indoors in the hopes of containing the spread of COVID-19. If you are not, then not only are you foolish but you are also missing out on some great content here! There is no slowing down for us, and we will keep bringing you as much love and happiness as we can. This week we are taking a trip around Seattle, with stops at Hotel Sorrento, St. James Cathedral, and Melrose Market Studios for the splendid Michaud Wedding!

At the end of September, we met up with Garrett and Jen as the clouds were just breaking. The coffee was hot and there were a bunch of tasty treats being cooked while the groom got ready. Over at the Hotel Sorrento, the ladies were getting to look as pretty as the views of the city behind them. Fortunately the weather was wonderful, which meant that the First Look was held outside St. James Cathedral!

Anyone wanting a little taste of the grandiose churches of Europe, take a walk around the awesome architecture of this magnificent building. First finished in 1907, it’s century-long tale saw it renovated several times. Walking around First Hill at the top of the hour and you can hear its bells reverberate throughout the area. On the steps outside its big brass doors, Jen and Garrett met for their First Look!

If you thought the outside was great, the interior might be even more so. The vast ceilings left our jaws dropped, but it still proved to be an intimate ceremony. Once the priest gave the go-ahead, Garrett and Jen kissed, becoming husband and wife! Some photos followed up the ceremony, before heading off to Melrose Market Studios.

Decked out with long wood tables covered with greenery and red napkins, it almost felt like Christmas. As family and friends filled the hall, the newlyweds emerged to enjoy cocktails with their guests. Dinner started soon after, and boy was it delicious. If the cake was any indication of the rest of the day, it was out of this world! A three-tiered delight, the middle tier was a marbled blue with gold trim.

After bellies were filled, the dancing began. A bubbly first dance with her dad had Jen and everyone else smiling, followed up by Garrett’s slow jam with his mom. The rest of the group joined in soon and it was such a joyous time. After a while of dancing, toasts and champagne occurred to give everyone a breather. Eventually, the lights dimmed down as dancing ramped up again! Oh, and did we mention there was another dessert?

We left before things officially wrapped up, but we wanted to thank Jen and Garrett for choosing Best Made Videos® to film your wedding day! As always, if you have any questions, comments or just want to drop us a line, you can do so below! We will return with a Behind the Scenes look, so stay tuned!

How did you guys meet?

Plenty of Fish lol

Tell us about the proposal!

We went to NYC for Jen’s 30th birthday and on our last night there after a gorgeous rooftop dinner and immersive theater experience at the Hotel McKittrick Hotel we walked up to the Chelsea Highline as it was closing. I got down on one knee and asked Jen to marry me and she said yes. The rest is history!

Why did you choose your venue?

We are parishioners at St. James…and it is beautiful!

What are you most excited to see in the video?

For me, it is the details that comprise the day. Bringing artistry, context and emotion to the video.

Anything else?

The beauty in people, the architecture, neighborhood and artistic elements. Having a real human element to it.
