Hey, would you look at that? It seems some hot weather is finally in our forecast. Gloom and doom days have been more present this year than usual. Maybe it’s a sign of the times, maybe it is just our luck of the draw this year. Nevertheless, we want some fun in the sun! But, in the meantime, we still got a few days to kill before venturing outside, so let’s catch up with some weird and wild wedding news. This week there is a bit of good, a little bad, and always bizarre! Let’s get to it:

We will get the frustrating (or pitiful, I guess) out of the way first. Despite gay marriage being 100% legal across these wonderful United States, in the years following the Supreme Court’s declaration, numerous homophobes across the country have tried to make it so they do not have to do business with members of the LGBT+ community. A lot of the time they have failed, other times they have been shamed out of their businesses. Well, here we are again, this time with, as the article puts in literal quotes, a “wedding photographer” who simply cannot fathom photographing any LGBT+ weddings.

Pink News really skewers this guy, and for good reason. The opening picture is captioned “Chris Herring, a man who has photographed at least four weddings.” Trying to pull the religion card, and taking the state of Virginia to court, it would be one thing if he had actually been...asked...to photograph a LGBT+ wedding. But he hasn’t. What a schmuck! Check the article for more details.

It seems like almost every week there is someone finding a long-lost wedding ring. Except, this time around, the wedding ring was only lost for a few months, though it had originally belonged to the wearer’s father. Steven Elonich, who got hitched in March, “lost his ring in Lake Manawa while he was playing with his dog.” They searched desperately for the ring near the shore, “treading water with cups, diving down, scooping up mud off the bottom, and then going through it to try and find the ring.”

A diver spent over an hour under the water before finding the ring. Steven’s father, who the ring originally belonged to, is in stage four of cancer, so finding it was of the utmost importance. Sure a good thing they did!

Back in October, there was one of the most awesome superhero weddings we wish we could have been a part of. Yahoo! Life details their love story, which “all began with a simple ‘like’ on social media,” and progressed into a legendary tale.

We do not want to spoil the awesome photos, but they are definitely excellent. Perhaps this is the stylish way to go about social-distanced weddings, especially with so much concern about masks? James was looking pretty wicked as Black Panther. Maybe we will start seeing more themed weddings as this thing goes on!
