Kragenbrink Wedding on 10/5/18 at The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle, Wa

Not only is it one of the area’s most premier luxury hotels, but the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Downtown Seattle is also an historic landmark that has stood the test of time since 1924. Recently named as the #1 best hotel in Seattle (by U.S. News & World Report), you can’t really argue against the claim. With a AAA 4 diamond restaurant (The Georgian), a fantastic oyster bar and a hopping lounge, this place is the pinnacle of class and sophistication for any hotel or wedding venue in downtown Seattle.

So we think the Kragenbrinks are pretty awesome for having their wedding here. A quiet October morning had everyone sipping bubbly, putting on suits with pastel-green ties, and having a grand old time while doing so. Once the boys were all decked out they were in quite the fun mood, so we got some really “romantic” shots of them just goofing around.

Eventually the ladies were ready too, and joined in on the fun with the rest of the bridal party. We loved seeing all the funny poses and tongues sticking out. Once all the silliness was out of their systems, the bridal party was finally ready for the big show.

Taking a page out of any loving nerds fantasy book: the bride made her way down to “Zelda’s Lullaby” from the Legend of Zelda video games. Truth be told, the thought has certainly crossed our minds before so we give them props for making it a reality, though the majority of people in attendance would probably never know its source.

Against a massive window that let the light pour into the venue, the bride and groom met to be married in a spiritual ceremony that let Katie and Chase share their love for each other and for god in front of everyone they know. As classy as can be, with gold handrails, marbled stairs, and plenty of candles, it was such a magnificent sight to see these two marry. The Fairmont really does mean luxury!

Returning down the aisle to even more Zelda music (stop stealing our ideas, guys!), it was time for some group photos with the family and to get all the boring paperwork out of the way. Itching for great food, booze and celebration, the rest of the guests made their way to the reception hall where the newlyweds soon returned to start the bash.

After cutting into the ridiculously beautiful cake (which should probably be considered a crime) the rest of the night flew by in a series of dances, speeches and a myriad of lights and music. Bringing out a photobooth and a Nintendo Switch for the kids to play with kept those not wanting to dance perfectly entertained, as everyone else boogied the night away.

Thank you again to Katie and Chase for picking Best Made Videos® to film their wedding! We hope your first three months of marriage have been going wonderfully. Have any questions or comments? Leave them below and we will get to them!

How did you guys meet?

We met the first day of college. We were in the same band orientation group. We started dating a week later.

Tell us about the proposal!

Chase took me out to a nice dinner at Outback Steakhouse. Then he suggested that we go to Bellevue Downtown Park to check out the new renovations and the see if they had put in new swings. We paused halfway through walking around the park, and Chase got down on one knee, pulled a ring out his pocket, and asked me to be with him forever. I said yes of course.

Why did you choose your venue?

I fell in love with the greenery and the grandeur of the windows in the Garden Room.

What are you most excited to see in the video?

The 'first look' during the ceremony processional.

Katie and Chase's story in their own words:

Our Story

We met on our first day at Cal Poly SLO where we happened to be in the same band WOW orientation group. We started dating a week later on September 20, 2011 and have been together ever since. After college, Katie accepted a job offer in Washington, and Chase decided to follow her there. After living together in Bellevue, Washington for two years, Chase proposed to Katie in the Bellevue Downtown Park on October 12, 2017. Now we are ready to get married on October 5, 2018 at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle. Come and celebrate with us!
